I was mulling over adding cable to my existing internet service today because my promotion is up on Sept 6th.

Right now I'm with Comcast paying 29.99 for internet, and that's it. I get 20mbps on average and that's good enough to do everything I need to do.

I have access to Netflix, HBOGo, Amazon Instant, and a piff connect for downloads. I originally signed up for another promotion with them for 39.99 for Economy cable and an upgrade in my net but I cancelled the installation... I tried to set it back up but now they're like, the price is 69.99 :wtf:

So I'm just going to let my promotion run out and run with what I have. It'll get bumped to 44.99 but it's worth it, and I'm getting free cable anyway.

For the NBA season, I'm going to cop League Pass, I have basic local cable in 2 rooms for FREE, so I'll get all the Fox, CBS, NBC NFL games. When they hit ESPN, I have the ESPN app on my 360 to stream those as well.

I'm eating good, and my girl doesn't care anymore either. When I showed her the light on how I can get the goods she was like fukk TV. Now I just have her watching all my favorite shows. (she just finished 4 seasons of Breaking Bad)

I'm :win:

trust me once its gone you will be back.

I've had basic cable since March and I have no need to get it again.

And this is coming from someone who lived in a home with UVerse U200 or 300 package which had all the channels on it.

I'm about to do the same. When I actually watch cable tv, it's usually when I toss on Martin or Family guy when i'm ready to doze off at night. Everything I watch is either on Nextflix or downloaded off the net.

WHY? Cable TV is ancient breh, that shyt is overpriced and not necessary anymore.

being able to watch the news, shows and record premium channels from the remote>>> having to hook my cpu to my hdtv, get subscriptions to certain services and having to look for links for the latest eps to dl

:skip:

Not if you found the right site. You're not looking up anything. You just hit your connect up

*downloads 720p episode of Breaking Bad an hour or 2 after it's aired*
*watches with no commercials*
*admires the pic quality*
*thinks about all the years you thought cable was a need*

:heh:

Times have changed breh. And you don't have to hook your computer/laptop up to the TV. That's what's streaming is for.

That shyt may be more convenient, but it's not worth the money anymore. Having to play games with the cable companies to keep your bill under a $100 is a fukkin pain in the ass. The money I've saved just by dropping down to the lowest cable subscription added up quick. Only a matter of time before I cut that shyt completely.

you don't have the right sources that is basically all it comes down to.

Also, you can buy episodes for breaking bad or any other show shortly after they air for $2-$3 per episode or a season pass. But nah instead I should go ahead and give my cable company $350-$500 in that same 3-4 month stretch the seasons are on just because they provide me a fukking remote? You CANNOT BE SERIOUS.

No matter how you want to play this, you will lose.

If its a convenience factor...you really don't win because after you set everything up Netflix's content shytS all over thats on Cable TV AND the streamers come with a remote as well. If you throw the "latest releases" factor then you pay anywhere from $3-$5 extra just to watch it on top of your overpriced fukking subscription.

Price? No contest, you are basically throwing your money away AND watching ads on top of that. Most of us streamers are watching shyt with NO commercials and paying LESS.
