1.) Lmao had to look back twice cuz I thought you said Jeepers :russ: I haven’t been to Jasper’s since 2010.

2.) Any differences between us are subtle but maybe our accent is slightly more country (a lot of us have family ties to Southeast and SE nikkas tend to have a very strong slur in their accent compared to other Black Washingtonians); our fashion is similar but back in the 80’s and 90’s it was more distinguishable; young PG nikkas have cars tend to have a higher car ownership than young DC nikkas; I think PG nikkas tend to be better adept at the art of Code-Switching when it comes to dealing with workplace shyt and white people than their DC counterparts (basically switching Ebonics/AAVE off and turning on General American/“proper speak”); etc.

3.) MoCo nikkas can be cool, but some of them can be fake asf.

As for Bmore nikkas, they can be cool and I even made a few friends from there ever since I attended UMES. Sometimes we’ll joan on each other but it’s usually just good fun  I’ve grown to like some Bmore Club music but I still think they dance and talk funny lol and their slang be having me :dead: Lor Scoota was about to be the next best thing to come outta Baltimore smh.

4.) Occupations with the Most Job Openings in Washington, DC
MoCo brehs are like entry level Torontobreh...
:mjpls:
oh it gets WORSE

Good malls in PG? I’ve only ever been to Iverson Mall, which is the equivalent to Mondawmin Mall in Baltimore .. lol..

My nikka went to Iverson Mall :dead:

Lol I would say PG Mall (Hyattsville), Bowie Town Center, and Tanger Outlets near National Harbor is as good as you’re gonna get as far as PG malls are concerned.

Forestville Mall can be just as ghetto as Iverson Mall but it got a slightly better selection of stores and it got a couple of good food spots too like the bakery that sells snickerdoodles (second only to Iverson Mall’s) and the Chinese spot that be serving them big ass fried wings with mumbo sauce and potato wedges. There used to be an video game arcade in Forestville Mall back in the day but it later became a Jerry’s Pizza. Now it’s a whole barbershop, they got some good cuts too.

Beltway Plaza in Greenbelt is okay but it’s not as good as it used to be back when Jeepers was around.

A lot of PG’s old malls are extinct, most notably Landover Mall (R.I.P.). Thankfully Iverson Mall is getting a makeover, so it should still be around for a long while. They’ve recently put in a Wing Stop, Tropical Smoothie, and Chipotle outside of it where the Bojangles is. The plans for the mall’s interior and exterior look sweet asf, it’ll be interesting to see what the final product will look like. I’m just glad that they’re gonna keep the bakery that sells the original snickerdoodles as well as that pizza shop that I loved as a kid :blessed:

I’m lowkey happy it’s happening because I remember the days when Iverson Mall used to be poppin like shyt. Weekend afternoons and nights at that mall back in the late ‘90s used to look like an entertainment district or some shyt lol.

Why are the public schools so bad compared to Howard County or Montgomery county?

One thing I read is that a lot of blacks send their kids to private schools. How true is this and are blacks really making bank like that out there?

The County Board of Education and past superintendents were always on some corruption and/or lackadaisical shyt, and public school funding has been a persistent issue for PGCPS. I also think if PG had the wealth demographics of Mo County or Howard County or Fairfax County or Arlington County, there would be more than enough tax revenue to fund these schools. And this leads into your last question, yes a lot of Blacks do be making bank out here but while PG is the wealthiest Black County in the country, our overall comparative wealth is still dwarved by a couple of our neighbors like the ones I just name dropped.

And yes, a lot of Black kids from well-to-do households do go to private school or charter school as well. Both me and my lil sister are college-going and we’re products of PGCPS, whereas my lil brother who’s in the 3rd grade, goes to a Montessori school and originally until 1st grade attended a Christian private school.

Who said we ever were? Them SE goons used to be shook of Suitland nikkas, especially Homer Ave dudes. Forest Creek nikkas used to chase off and try to hunt for nikkas (even ones from DC) who even tried talking to their females. And Landover and Cap Heights nikkas used to stay taking over the GoGos in DC back in the 2000s, you can ask the OGs about that. These young nikkas just don’t know.

They changed the name of that bytch to the Avanti, but it's Forest Creek forever.

I had a homegirl come visit me and she stopped at the gas station by the McDonalds :heh:

People truly don't be understanding that PG nikkas aren't/weren't chumps.

What's the restaurant scene like? The thing about Northern VA is that there is all types of food over here...well, everything except soul food smh.

North PG (north of Exit 11B):

Mexican Food
Central American Food
West African Food
Ethiopian Food
Brunch
Jamaican Food
Chinese Carryouts
Soul Food Owned By Asians

South PG (south of Exit 11B):

Fried Chicken
Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken
Seafood
Hip Hop Chicken
Chinese Carryouts (some even serve Soul Food)
Sardi’s
BBQ
Breakfast
Soul Food Owned By Black People

Lol now my list is a slight generalization breh but that’s how it is here sometimes. I’ll run you down an actual list of PG restaurants a lil later tho. But one of my most favorite restaurants you should definitely hit up is Milk & Honey near the IKEA in College Park. It’s a popular Black-owned brunch spot that be having some bomb ass food, good vibes, beautiful ass sistahs (including the fine ass waitresses :takedat:), and nice music. They have a smaller original location on UMD’s campus, so the one by IKEA is their bigger second location.

Nah, I used to get my hair braided off in Morningside in that little shopping center with the bar.

People google PG County, and see Ft. Washington,National Harbor, Upper Marlboro,Bowie and Laurel....They don't realize places like Oxon Hill Village,Southview and Hill Road exist.

First time I’ve heard of that place. Is it near Ritchie Station Marketplace?
It's on Marlboro Pike right down from Penn Station Shopping Center, going in the DC direction. It's on the Penn Station side of Marlboro Pike. It's almost across from Popes Funeral Home, but not quite as far down Marlboro Pike.

Southview/Glassmanor was almost a war zone, especially down by Eastover, Is that club Michael's still there?

Don't disrespect Laurel cause them nikkas get it in

I used to live in Kimberly Gardens in the 90s and we was active
In the 2000's they were stealing cars like crazy in Laurel. My brother use to stay in some apartments there, can't think of the name, and his car was stolen twice.
