To keep it a buck generally speaking getting a villa on the north coast of the DR is probably gonna be more than if you paid rent for ten years.
If you decide to build even if you cheap out and get a random homebuilding crew get a lawyer to draw up a contract and keep records of receipts of payments. It's common for janky homebuilders to try to scam you.
You should do this even for major repairs to a house.
Needless to say have cash on hand for repairs especially a fixer upper.
