So your parents want a grown as able bodied 32 year old to stay at home, when they can more than afford to do alright on their own? Ok and y'all need to let that other culturs argument go, cause I doubt anyone using that argument know as much about those cultures and why they do what they do as they think

I'll admit I grew up with more diversity, so I know a lot about many cultures. The belief that all parents feel ashamed when their child hasn't moved out by a certain age is ludicrous. Just because you fall under that does not mean it applies to everyone. Go to India, Mexico or Africa and you will understand what I'm saying. That's 2 billion people who would probably disagree with what you have to say.

This white dude at my work is like 46 and still lives with his parents. He also doesn't have a car (or even a license, to my knowledge). He said something to me one time like "I look at it like, why should I get my own place when I can come home to a warm cooked meal and a comfy house?". Now THAT'S a little odd...32 is one thing (and even THAT is kinda old, if you can afford your own place), but 46 and don't even WANNA move out? And no car? I could definitely NOT be content with that shyt. Dude's pretty cool for the most part honestly, but still...I don't know how anyone that age could be okay with that. And, from what he's told me, it sounds to me like he NEVER moved out...not just some "moved back home because I lost my job/couldn't afford it anymore" type shyt.

As someone who knows a little something about house construction, unless your ass is the hulk you're not punching through an exterior wall breh :comeon:

Not to mention construction techniques have gotten better and construction codes have gotten tougher over the years. Plus in that 1942 home you're more than likely to have rot in the structure due to inproper flashing and the lack of using composite, rust/rot/mildew free materials.

nikkas like saying shyt like that to make themselves feel better about their house. If you love where you live, cool. No need to try to shyt on someone to big yourself up, friend

What do you mean by cookie cutter? If you mean a house where the buyer chooses from a specific number of designs for their house then my point still stands. The builder (and to some extent the inspector) are what determine the quality of the construction, not the year it was built.

Building quality didn't massively drop because developers decided to use a replicable model for home construction breh :comeon:

And I'll ask you the same question I asked Steve, what have you noticed that wasn't built well?

Pretend? I can tell you did not grow up in a culturally diverse setting. We see the world differently, and that is perfectly fine. I am someone who has done well for myself and family, but I will not forget where I came from and how I got here. Many from where I am from still live together as a family and sometimes not by choice. How many immigrants are in America? You cannot tell me you really believe what you are saying. See how far you get in life using that fantasy logic.

easy answer workmanship and materials. Dont get me wrong if your there from the time they pour the concrete in the basement until the time they put the roof vent on your probably good. But, thats rarely the case. Ive seen too many of these homes have shotty work to think otherwise.

You gotta be specific breh. What low quality materials and what poor craftmanship specifically? Roofing? Shingles? Framing? Flooring? The streets need specifics breh :birdman:

And besides, none of these issues have anything to do with when the home was built, which is my original point. Using cheap materials and having under skilled workers isn't a new phenomena

Even if you get an architect to design your home, you're not going to be present for 99% of the construction either. All you'll essentially have to go on is whether the finishes "look good." Anything behind the walls will be unknown to you more than likely.
