They need to let the extra % the supermax can offer not count against the cap. So the max contract still counts against the cap but the additional supermax benefits do not .

So if we're trying to win we'd trade for the 30 year old PG coming off his worst season who once lost to a Jazz team with Rudy Gobert as their best player because he let Ricky fukking Rubio get in his head? Got it.
