You are retarded. Westbrook would just get the triple doubles ben simmons gets + the added threat of shooting.

You that reluctant to come to your senses on Ben Simmons? I mean I know y'all heavily invested but with embiid you cant afford to wait on that bum

Let's set aside the fact that this trade could never happen because the Sixers wouldn't be able to come up with pieces to match Russ's albatross contract of 4 years remaining at 161 million.

Russ would have to share shots with Embiid, Horford, and Harris for starters. Even with his shooting issues, Simmons still had a 56 FG percentage (which will likely go up since he isn't in his prime) last season. In comparison Russ only shot 43 percent from the field. That's like Terry Rozier status. And if you want to bring free throws into it, Russ only shot 66 percent from the line to Ben's 60.

My point is, Russ's numbers are all declining and 31 year old guards of his size in a new environment don't suddenly get better or play better off-ball defense. Meanwhile, at 23 Simmons is not even in his prime yet. Westbrook is better than Simmons now, but more than likely that's not going to be the case in 2 years. Hell, there's a small chance it might not be the case next season. Makes zero sense to mortgage the future for a depreciating asset like Westbrook.

And this is coming from someone who considers Westbrook to be my favorite non-Sixer of this decade.

But will Joel knees be cooked in 2 years? Possibly. Dumb af to sign Simmons early. Could have gave that money to Jimmy. They have no closer now

I feel you,
But I’m not sure if Philly can wait on Simmons to get better. With Embiid health issues, I’m not sure how long of a career he will have. IMO they have to be in when now mode. Even with all his issues I think Russ give them a better opportunity to win now.

You sign him early to ward off other teams who would pay him.

And a guard on the decline who hasn't been out of the 1st round since Obama was in office isn't closing anything either. I'll take my chances with Embiid and our shooters.
