Why would he Wait to sign in LA when all the role players are getting snatched up?

The longer he waits the worse the Lakers chance of filling out the roster gets.

But what exactly makes you think the Lakers would’ve had the money to sign Kawhi AND some of the contracts some of these role players got? It couldn’t happen either way.

Meanwhile, there are still solid role players on the market literally waiting for Kawhi and on top of that a lot of the money has dried up which will help the Lakers in getting bargains.

It's not that they could have necessarily signed too many of the guys that came off the board yesterday, but just that look whats left now and by the end of today or tomorrow if kawhi waits til then? What's that group of guys to choose from gonna look like at that point?

And on top of that, role players are getting $20 million a year right now. The Lakers can offer 1 $4.8mil contract and then minimums.

There's not gonna be much depth there for a team that would need alot of load management.

The reason for the delay is today is Canada day and Kawhi wants to be respectful to the Raptors organization. Lakers get their official meeting with Kawhi today after having corresponding for a full year with him. After he signs we’ll fill things out quickly.

Lebron made it known he came there for off the court reasons. He’s announced more movie and TV projects than he had wins this past season.

Anthony Davis:

Won 14 games in two years (including 6-19 one year) in HIGH SCHOOL at 6’10

Only been to the playoffs twice in 7 years.

I agree, i don't see how he makes that team better as offball guard. This forces Klay to get shots off against taller defenders because the smaller guards will cover dangelo. Defensively they were better off with iggy too. he could be a great sixth man in their second unit though, backing up curry.
