Its easy to say what one would or should do a week, month, year after the fact. This incident happened in the span of minutes. He died STILL not knowing who or what George Zimmerman was, or why he kept chasing him after attempting to evade multiple times. I'll say it again because I think this point is important...Trayvon Martin, a 17 year old high school teenager, DIED NOT KNOWING WHY HE WAS BEING FOLLOWED AND PURSUED. How many thoughts are racing through his head at that moment not knowing what to do.

There's a reason you can't have sex with anyone under the age of 18, nor legally bind them to a contract. Teenagers are still developing their logical and critical thinking skills, emotions, hormones, body, and very small independent life experience to draw from. They're just learning to handle things as simple as balancing a checkbook and drive at that age. 17 year Olds don't have the wisdom enough to keep their room clean, let alone navigating the intricacies of states laws like "stand your ground" or the technicality in the self defense law that allows someone to have not been actually physically assaulted, but only in their mind perceive you as putting their life in danger.

I agree with you BUT, we don't have the chance to use the young excuse, and not teach our children how to act in this country. You can live your life, you just have to do it in a smarter way so you can prevent your enemies from knowing your every move, and use it against you. Do you know how many stick up kids wear the same type of clothes during their robberies?. It's a lot. We are not teaching the youth how to move in this society, that includes the older g's. The ones who do teach, are seen as lame because it's all about being seen, instead of getting that reql money. Men have turned into females. Instead we broadcast everytjing we do, and wonder why we are easy targets. My mother always told me straight up that if I was going to do something I had to be the best being that I'm a black man, this way a racist will have to work hard to deny what I'm doing. She also told me how to deal with police, and white people who are racist. The rest I learned watching other peoples mistakes. Parents need to be real with these children, and tell them the truth about their place in this society, this way the problem can be fixed more effectively then it is now.

We share the same sentiment for the most part. It was my understanding that you were arguing that it was Trayvon's fault that he didn't call the police, or record Zimmerman while being chased, and the ensuing encounter with him which led to him being killed by a man with a gun while he was unarmed. My argument is it was ADULT vs CHILD. A child not knowing the law as well as someone who has both parents, an uncle, and friends who've made a career in the field of law, and who was studying for years college level courses in law as a major, is not the child's fault. We can just agree to disagree I guess. Oh, what a tangled web GZ weaved on Trayvon Martin.

Regardless of whether or not people feel they encounter racism in their everyday lives, you can find it EASILY on the internet. The internet is a way better gauge to judge someone's true feelings because there is a sense of anonymity attached to it. I think we experience it everyday also, but most people aren't perceptive enough to pick up on it. You might be onto something about them knowing they didn't earn their place in society because I've noticed that whites LOVE to play like they are victims nowadays, and play the so called 'race card' at every occasion that they in turn claim we use constantly. But I'm not sure it's really a 'guilt' that they feel, because I truly think they all think they are inherently above us. Also, in my opinion, their hate for us goes back to Biblical times.

at the end of the day its almost never worth it to fight someone in the street. Even if you win who is to say that person won't go back to their car and grab a gun. The only safe place to fight is in some sort of fighting club or tournament that deals with a specific martial art kickboxing or just straight mma if you really want to get it out of your system but street fighting...legally its just too risky and almost never ever worth it

If Trayvon resisted the urge to respond to what was probably annoying questioning with violence he would still be alive. All he had to do was say he was simply walking home and there really wasn't anything he could have been detained on with no weapons or drugs on him.
