We've already established that women, in fact, DO approach men, however, ONLY the ones that they truly, sometimes desperately, want.

As for as the respect level goes for men that don't approach, it varies to each individual woman. As already evidenced by the Twitter posts, some women do not like, get agitated over, and lose respect for men that don't approach. IMHO, I think most women hate it due to the, now antiquated, gender rule that men are supposed to pursue women and women are not. You may not personally be among that group with that mindset, but many women are.
