If my daughters are in school, or working but don’t have the means they can stay, but they not gonna be at my house being no fkn bums for sure. I will look to them for labor if we start businesses that they can grow and own to be able to provide for their future families.

Yeah, push your kids out the house so they will struggle to pay rent, study and go in to debt.....thats how you give them a good start at life.

Throw this man away :camby:
Yeah, this (the OP) is more trauma speaking than anything else. If I had kids, they could live with me as long as they want, they need to be working or improving themselves, and I will put a % of both incomes aside for savings.

Truth is, most parents are having kids they can't afford, kids they regret having, and they can legally do away with most of their problems when the kid reaches "adulthood".

Black people only move out from their parents because they stop getting along

Other groups hustle as a unit and don’t throw their children out to a shytty economy and think “struggle” is a part of our culture

No wonder Black wealth about to be zero. We make some of the stupidest rules and norms sometimes just to get attention

I definitely disagree with that statement! How can someone expect someone who barely graduated from HS to survive on their own??

Young adults that age lack maturity, work & life experience.

Now, should young adults prepare for adulthood by attaining a post HS education? Absolutely!

But, there is nothing wrong with a young adult staying at home while they attain a college or trade school education.

I do believe that parents should definitely prepare their young adult children to become independent. So, by the time they hit mid to late 20s, they will be off the titty and will be able to survive on their own.

It depends how you want to look at it.

Y'all keep talking about “this is how you build generational wealth” but a lot times that isn't the case with these adults living with their parents past 21.

Living with your parents has it's pros but it also has it's cons such as those adult children becoming sheltered and (a word I don't like to use) lazy with no ambition to do anything with their lives because mommy and daddy is taking care of them with food, shelter, clothes, etc and those kids never get a grasp on what it means to be an adult on their own and God forbids if something happens to their parents what are they gonna do since they were relying and became dependent on their parents taking care of them.

So Asians, and Whites the wealthiest two groups in this nation that practice this are failures?

Even Nigerians who have the highest average income among black folks in the US practice this.

But yea all failures lol

Nigerians and Asians don't necessarily practice this mentality. Yes, you don't see a lot of Nigerians & Asians living with their parents after college. But the difference is Nigerian and Asian parents drill education and financial success so much into their children, that it never even comes to that. Most Nigerians and Asians don't need to stay with their parents after college.

On the flip side, a lot of black children actually need to stay with their parents to get on their feet, but unfortunately black people put this stupid mentality into practice.

18-20 is not after college tho and yes you are right the path that they take allows them to leave home after college which actually might be in the late 20s sometimes even early 30s

if your kid becomes lazy while you at home then you failed as a parent. My parents made me live with them but told me I have to get a job and start paying my own bills (my phone really and transportation and car note)
