this thread is disrespectful to what slaves had to endure :what:

nikka really comparing millionaire athletes to slaves who were owned by other human beings.

These millionaire athletes live better than 90% of the world
STFU. :stopitslime: This is such a stupid argument. It's analogous to saying racism doesn't exist because people aren't getting lynched.:stopitslime:

Stop derailing this thread with your bullshyt semantics.:birdman:

The thing is. If all the owners was black fans was black etc. and the owners was getting billion while the players get millions. it would be the same thing. What way would blacks benefit more from black ownership and fans if they still getting paid a lot less than owners to perform and put in the work

Prison system = Modern-day slavery.
Pro sports= easy money to be the workhorse of rich franchise owners.

No, it is not and it will *never* be the same fukking thing. Stop it. If suddenly blacks owned the majority of sports teams, everyone would be:blessed:and literally not a goddamn
thing would change. They would still be rich mawfukkas buying and selling rights to someones active career.

If blacks were majority in charge of for-profit prisons, nothing would change, and folks would be sad as ever. Stop trying to equate sports teams picking elite athletes off the streets and
telling them how to act (in order to not damage the brand) to slavery. Bet you slaves would have ran the fukking ball rather than live they way they did.

You dumb fukk where did I say racism doesn't exist?
I dare you to look a slave in the eye and tell them a millionaire athlete and a slave are in the same position.
Nobody forces athletes to become athletes, Lebron James has the option to quit being an athlete tomorrow if he wanted to. You think a slave could quit being a slave anytime?
Do you motherfukkers think before you post or do you just type smart dumb militant shyt for daps :what:

Dudes getting to caught up in semantics. He didn't say it was the same as slavery, he said there are parallels and he's correct. Mainly black folks working in replaceable employee roles making white folks richer. This class system we live under is a direct result of slavery. That is to say coming out of slavery we as black ppl were never put on equal footing with whites as far as resources go. Black folks have and continue to this day to be bottom class citizens in a country we helped create! Those lack of resources and bottom class designation has therefore allowed whites to create and control most everything in this country including the NFL.

What i would love to see someday is 10+ of the richest blacks come together and start a new league(NFL or NBA to start). You pick 10 or the largest cities with large black populations and they each get one to start their team in. You don't have to call it a black league, it will be black regardless. You have one of the tenets of participation in this league be about pro-black empowerment, ie your participation in this league hinges on your thoughts and actions reflecting a willingness to be directly involved with programs that uplifting blacks at all times and building black communities all over this country. You'd also need a players/owners type union because one of the traps of capitalism is that you just focus on making as much money as possible. Work out revenue sharing system so owners still make more than the players(since they take all the monetary risk) but share the wealth as to be reflective of being a true community of blackness that just so happens to be about sports.
So any black person working at a job thats run by/where the white man is the CEO? :ld:

:jbhmm:So black-owned teams would do something other than draft? They wouldn't showcase the athletes in a way that makes a guy go "I want him on my team:letyasoulglow:"?

Under current laws, of course black-owned prisons wouldn't be different. You know how much money those joints make? Take away the for-profit ones and you might have a change, but

even then, you would need blacks in government to really change anything.

So again, I restate, it would all work very much the same. Any good reason it wouldn't other than idealism?

I'm saying:russ:

Yeah, you're a real slave to have your net worth get catapulted into the top 1% of the world for doing something that you would otherwise be doing for fun anyway. These fools are comparing the draft to a slave auction block.:mjlol:

You not wrong per se but not totally right either

Still, the visual of a hard knocks episode with a bunch of white sunburnt straw hatted coaches and owners drinking sweet tea and yelling at young strapping black man running around a field is definitely cringeworthy

If thats the case, u could say that everyone who works under someone else parallels slavery. Average people get fired or suspended because of social media, viral videos, etc. This dude gets paid millions to play a game. He could buy a plantation. I don't see it.

Parallels?

Well shyt in that case there are parallels between driving a car and piloting a rocket ship.
Parallels between banging Tika Sumpter and jacking off.
shyt man there's parallels between being a triple black belt and being a white belt.

Parllels... :dead:
