Seems kinda contradictory

Living together on the idea that "if this trial period works, then we can work for a lifetime" does not make much sense. That would be a using a conditional idea to justify an unconditional agreement. I'm sure a woman who really wants to get married can do that for a year or so.

There's a reason marriages where the couples pre-cohabitated (a) have a higher divorce rate (b) report higher levels of unhappiness than those who wait.

Also, it can be just as big of a risk, financially, to live with someone (relationship wise) you aren't married to.

You should be asking yourself why a man, a father, feels ok refusing to cook for his own children apparently because he is trying to fill some standard that its not his duty. Why should a husband 'not want to cook' when he has hungry children looking at him? Or a wife who he supposedly loves who needs a break and he has more energy that day than her?

You guys need to know that real marriages that work are partnerships. One person slaving away to preserve the others ego is doomed to fail.

Thats when daddy pulls out the campbell soup and boils. Some men are good cooks, some are not. Feeding your kids food that doesnt taste good just to appease a woman who needs to see a man cook to feel like she has some power in the relationship is a bit dismal for that couple. Lets keep it traditional and cater to one anothers strengths. Women should be strong cooks and men should be strong leaders. There is no statistical data to prove that your way works but i can show that tradition has kept marriages together.
