well this is untrue :russ:
It's not untrue. Anybody who would argue that Kobe runs the floor, moves without the ball, crashes the boards, and drives to the cup as well as Lebron is disingenuous and isn't worthy of engaging.
Do those stats account for whether or not a player is covered or falling out of bounds? Kobe takes way more contested and higher degree of difficulty jumpers than Bron. I'm not defending this behavior because I actually think it hurts his team but that doesn't change the fact that his jumper is better than Bron's.
Learn the difference between fact and opinion.

I thought we were talking about scoring.

And Lebron is better moving without the ball than Kobe? :thefucc:

Yes, we are talking about scoring. Offensive rebounds is a way that players score. Yes, lebron moves better off the ball than Kobe does. I though that you watched the games? I knew you aren't that bright, I didn't think that you this dim.

Hopefully one day, you'll get a life. Must be tough.

Already there but thanks for the tip.:myman: How about you follow your own advice.
Obviously you don't since you're dismissing the stats/facts in favor of your own personal opinion.

Kobe's midrange jumper is Aquafina, his 3pter is just as streaky as Bron's but it's not even close inside the arc. If Bron had Kobe's jumper there would be no point in watching the NBA. That would seriously be unfair. When you are discussing who is better at something it is all about breaking down their skills. :wtf: else would you be looking at? Numbers without context don't really add a lot to a discussion about who is better at something. You have to actually watch games for that.

Bron is nowhere near as a good a shooter as Kobe, he's a better decision maker, there's a difference. Kobe's jumper is ridiculous. The reason why it doesn't show in the numbers is because he knows it's ridiculous and has unshakeable faith in it and thusly he takes bad shots. That speaks to his decision making and approach to the game more so than it does his actual skills. Bron is a better decision maker. That along with his superior size and athleticism contribute to his shooting percentages more so than the quality of his jumper.

Ok, so we can have this combine discussion then. But when talking about who the better player is, the context I took is actually more appropriate.

Kobe's decision making with his shot, in the context of an actual NBA game, not a shootout, makes it what it is.

And I hate the notion that LeBron's size automatically is what makes him more efficient. It's as if you want to write it of and be like 'We'll, he's just bigger, so that's why he's more efficient than Kobe.'

No.

He's more efficient because he plays more efficiently within the context of an NBA game.

I bought a Carbon 15 when I was 18
:leon: I'm just keepin it 100. Never in my life have I met any black man who has based his arguments on a made-up stat. Only white boys care about shyt like that. Black folks play sports so we can tell the difference between who can play and who can't. You crakkkas ain't never played the game in your life so all you can base it on is what someone else says (hence your over reliance on made-up stats like PER).

The fact that Im black really kills your whole arguement

But keep talkin, this is entertaining :bama:

I didn't say anything about who the better player was I pointed to things that Kobe was better at than Lebron which was the basis of the thread. There is nothing confusing about what I am saying here. Kobe's jumper is better however factors outside of the quality of that jumper (decision making, the way teams play him, athleticism, health) contribute to his shooting percentage being lower than Bron's. I never said Bron's size automatically makes him more efficient so not sure where that came from. :yeshrug:

The quality of Kobe's jumpshot is really a moot point if he can't use it more effectively than LeBron can. If Kobe can't turn that defensive overplay into more assists and more chances to pumpfake and get to the rim, that's on him :manny:

It's only moot if we are talking about their overall play. If we are talking about individual things that Kobe is better than Bron at then it is relevant. Bron is a better overall player, yes. However to act as if Kobe isn't better at anything is just as stupid as the hero ball worship that Kobe gets.

So do you think that Lebron is a perfect decision maker? Are you under the impression that he never takes bad ill advised shots? Just because Lebron doesn't take as many bad shots and has a better shot selection than Kobe doesn't mean that he doesn't take bad shots. You're making excuses to dismiss the facts that you don't want to acknowledge just to try and prove your point and you're not being consistent. Some of you get too caught up in aesthetics and you lose sight of reality.

No he's not a perfect decision maker he's just better than Kobe and that along with superior athleticism, teams actually wanting him to shoot jumpers, and superior durability contribute to Bron shooting higher percentages than Kobe despite having an inferior jumpshot.
