To the people who stated japan. Have you ever been there before? Let me tell you, I've been twice and both times for about a month. The people are nice, the food is a bit different, its a really cool place n all, but in due time you will realize that they are very xenophobic (they know you're not Japaneses and will treat you as such by not allowing you to do certain things). You have to realize that the bigger cities in japan is just as media driven as america and they follow the European standard (they don't like white people just as much in most cases though lol) just much as every other other major city in the world, and there are places there where people have never seen a ニガー and will either stare in awe, try to touch you and your hair, or whatever. Now I'm not saying that japan is an awful place to visit (there's a reason I've been twice), but its not all 100% worshiping black people either (yes the chicks are easy, clubs are nice, better infrastructure, etc). I'm just saying some of you nikkas will flip out if this happened to you

that was most likely a yakuza owned club btw, they usually have a rule for no outsiders.

To answer the question though, I would rather live around people who have around the same complexion to me. So Brazil, Caribbeans, Africa, etc.

That is true, my cousin and I were just talking about how they are getting more strict with business visas. I´m gonna return on a student visa next year probably and milk that as long as possible. But the thing is the Brazilian workforce is still lackluster. They are importing a lot of engineers and doctors cause of the lack of Brazilians with those skills. This is Brazil tho:mjpls: U can always find loopholes man. The biggest step is to just get here and meet people.
True. That's why I'm still going to go, if the visa is too strict, I'll head to Colombia, I heard they're next up on the list, plus spanish is easier than portuguese. :troll:

True about the engineers and doctors (its every s. american country) but those are top tier careers, what about the second tier white collar office jobs? those tend to be filled with brazilians. I dont know, we'll see what's up. At the end of the day, just like in america, networking is everything. Folks don't know about that tho, they'd rather alienate themselves LOL.

I been to a lot of places around the world, never lived in another one except nyc, but judging from just visiting cities as a tourist, I would say that Istanbul is my favorite and I would seriously consider living there.

I just had a homie from Tennesse here who went back. He was only meeting other Americans, but I was telling him u gotta mingle with Brazilians too. I bet u can get office gigs but your portuguese gotta be on point man. If u learn Spanish, u can learn portuguese. I actually think portuguese is easier, at least for me. It makes more sense and the sentence structure is pretty much like english.

You're one of the few that have the 'gene'. I started traveling at 7 with my mom (africa and europe) and was stuck. I became obsessed. I even thought about being a commerical pilot when I was a kid (that was my answer when they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up) just so I could travel. Every time I would travel some where, all I could do is think of my time abroad and where I was going next. I would spend hours researching countries. I was willing to do anything, work at the airport, travel agent, anything to be able to explore and discover more of the planet. I got lucky and landed a traveling job like you, and then I started making my connects from there.
Yeah when I think about it i guess i hae that traveling gene

  • I was born in Haiti but my mom did business abroad at first so she would take me on trips to other Caribbean islands and Central America like Panama, Puerto Rico and Curaçao
  • I also would travel in different parts of the country with my dad a lot.
  • My second major in college was private piloting because i wanted to fly planes so badly. I was taking courses at Miami Dade Aviation and even got accepted at Embry Riddle... just never went. Biggest regret
  • When i got out the Army I had a part time job at the airport. After that I worked for Cruise Lines like Discovery Cruises and Costa Cruises (yes the one that sunk last year)

I love traveling but i refuse to be a tourist. :pacspit: I hate when i see people traveling to a place but yet refuse to immerse themselves into the place and the culture and blend in with the locals.

A few years ago I was cool with this Polish chick that immigrated to the US at age 16 or 17 and spent a few years in some Polish neighborhood in Chicago. She moved down South and ended up marrying a brotha and having a kid by him. She used to tell me that if she went back to Poland with her son he'd be treated worse than shyt over there, even by members of her own family.
I didnt see a single NON-WHITE person the first 5 days I was there. I was in Olztyn and Gdańsk at first. It wasnt until we went back to Warsaw and after 2 days there that I saw 2 black dudes walking out of a mall. I wanted to (and almost did) run to them and hug these mofos even tho i didnt know them :laff:
I met a Polish chick in France. She seems to like black dudes but I was with my girl when I went :guilty:. THen again Paris is full of black people so i'm sure she's had her share of black d!ck

On my way back from Sweden this year i met a black chick on the plane who lives in Hungary. She says she grew up in CHicago but moved there 4 years ago and LOVES it. I wish i had the balls to just pick up and move like that. Granted her dad is from there so she had a place to stay but still.

This is how I feel.

Also when I went to Brazil, I didn't want to leave. Their culture is superior to ours. It's hard to explain (and don't fukking start pasting your lame ass articles) you just have to go there and feel it for yourself. It feels like the future, the way it's all merged into one to form one big blended culture.

I live in China (2 years now), but I already know I will end up in Brazil or Colombia in the next 2-3 yrs. South America is my favorite region in the world, and I feel at home there.

I've lived in Canada, hated it, I love my city it's one of, if not the best city in the U.S (LA) but the normal life just isn't for me, it so boring. I love visiting every year, but after a couple weeks it gets old FAST, I mean real boring. China is hands down more fun. Like most expats will tell you, it's a trait you just have to have. Just like the explorers of yesterday left their beautiful cities in Spain and England to go venture out into some far away unknown land. Some people just have it in their DNA to where they feel more comfortable being an alien, an explorer, a vagrant.

:salute:

But at the same time, if you don't have the same spirit of adventure that you seem to have, these dudes ain't gonna enjoy living abroad. Especially if you grew up here in the states.

To start off the most basic of needs: eating. Do ya'll like to order the same shyt every time you go to a restaurant? Or do you like to try new dishes? If you're strictly hamburger and fries or chicken wings, then ya'll ain't about that life:heh:

I lived in Korea for a year, and this shyt seems to be very similar to Korea. Maybe most East Asian countries are like this??

man, just like in america, you stay AWAY from gang/mafia places, esp if you're a foreigner. @twan83 had an issue with Yakuza too.

I saw a Triad once, and I stayed clear from his VIP area, he gave me a head nod tho, and I hear some are coo and will buy you a drink, but you always let THEM initiate. In korea there are places where no foreigners are allowed. I've been denied access out here too. That's just asia. There's just some places you can't go, it's exclusive to locals. The west hasn't been the most friendly to the world, so they deny foreign men from going some places (real minuscule tho like 5%). It's like going to a KKK town and trying to sit down at a diner. Man not only will you get stares, you'll get denied food. We still have this issue in some places in America. When I encountered it, and maybe its cause I was drunk, I literally did :ooh: and then :wow: and then :heh: and then :manny: "yo where we headed next fukk this spot." :mannypac: I dont know I've been traveling so long, I guess I just have thick skin. There's a saying I came up with, instead of WTF, WTC (welcome to china)

Im sure the people that stated Japan understand that no country is a utopia. If you're looking for a utopia kill yourself now, because you're looking for a heaven on earth and trust me it doesn't exist.

:lupe:If everything goes according to plan, I'm out of here by the time i'm 40 and never coming back except to visit. I plan on buying some beachfront property in Costa Rica, and some hectacres in West Africa and alternating between them and Jamaica. I refuse to die in America, and I refuse to be here in 20 years when the shyt hits the fan.

Sounds like quite the plan :ehh:

THIS

after a month i will realize that none of these nikkas speak my language. i can't turn on the television and watch sportscenter, cnn, nbc, abc, cbs etc

can't watch basketball live

wont be able to go to a fast food burger joint, go to a club or restaurant without feeling foreign....reading the menu and shyt

Yes it may be better for you to not travel lol

Read my other posts and notice i said Job security is the only thing keeping me here.

All these places I am talking about are mostly places i went for work purposes so i wasn't being a typical tourist. Granted yeah some of these places I don't know as well as I do here and would need more time there to see what life there i really like. But the times i was there i tried to explore as much as possible and being there for work working long hours half the time i know how the typical day goes.
Costa Rica is whole different ball game because i actually stayed there a long long time (had an apartment and a car and everything). Many other places I've been and wouldn't wanna live.
  • Poland - Nice place but Too far. Not enough black people
  • France - Love it. Almost too many black people. I'm already fluent in french so I Would live there
  • Winnipeg Canada - Too fukking cold
  • Misnk, Belarus - Would NOT wanna live there. No black people.
  • London, UK - Love the place but co$t of living is EXTREMELY high. Would love to live there IF and ONLY IF i could afford it
  • Costa Rica - Would move there in a heartbeat if the right job came along
  • Bahamas - I'll admit i was pretty much in the tourist zone when I was there for work. It's cool.
  • Haiti - Again home is home. If the right opportunity came along I'm there.
  • Sweden - Beautful place but but too fukking cold. + Cost of living is disgusting

Lol @ the bolded, I do think a lot of people don't expect it to be so many black people in France. What kind of job you have?

Some people just have it in their DNA to where they feel more comfortable being an alien, an explorer, a vagrant.

Well said :wow: i kinda feel that way but I gotta admit I don't really have the courage to fully follow that instinct

You usually don't realize if you're in gang territory though. I did have one run in with a bosozoku gang and it wasn't intimidating or anything. Dudes were actually G with it. They knew I was american and not Nigerian (alot of Nigerians in Japan btw) and one dude was asking me all types of questions about rap n shyt in broken english. They wanted to hang out, but I was like naw buddy I ain't trying to get caught slippin.

Well it was different but the fact that it was a european city with so many blacks is why i loved it. They were cool black people. Mostly educated folks. London is like that too but Paris just wasnt a place that I thought would have such a large black population.
