I am not saying we should not talk about it but this should be on the very low end of the totem pole. Right now...

  • Blacks are being shot for just being black
  • Jails are full of black young males
  • Our communities are poor
  • A lot of single mothers and fatherless children
  • We don't support each other, crabs in the barrel
  • Our man and women are against each other
  • We even kill each other

I can go on forever with more important topics. Now, you tell me...is weave really that important?

yes. self image and trying to align ones self with the white standard of beauty is a big issue

But all of those issues, as well weave, come from white supremacy. I think discussing weaves is a good idea, we need more black men to encourage black women to go natural and embrace it. But in the tone of @Kind Gentleman. Berating black women for wearing weaves and calling them all typa mess really does not help at all.

I see the points of both of you, however, I'm just saying that there are so many other things that have a higher importance level.

I mean at the end of the day these dudes talk a good talk but theyre not about that life. Most of these rants are just them letting off some steam because they can't get these women that they constantly shyt on and rant about.

Classic obsession with weave...Join a big brother problem, I sure that will have a better impact than complaining about a woman's weave.
How you know i don't? :dead: I'm in a thread about weave, so i'm talking about weave. I'm in a thread about porn, so i talk about porn. I'm in a thread about books, so i talk about books. Stop running

You're trying to separate the issues, when they all have as big of an impact on each other. I think weaves are just as important because it's the living remnants of white supremacy in the black community. When women are taught to either slap on that creamy crack, and/or wear wigs/weaves, so as to feel better about themselves..that shyt is important. It's as important as anything else. You're grossly underestimating self perception. It's extremely important to one's mental health. We need more black men to step it up and step in and tell the women in they lives that their hair is beautiful, fukk this white supremacy. Self esteem and self perception is a part of human psychology. We as humans crave acceptance and feeling good about ourselves. It feels good to know that the men in our communities think our hair is beautiful, more sistas need to hear that.

more money
I meant no harm with that gif. I was just trying to lighten up the mood. Why are you ladies so hyper-sensitive? I didn't create a picture of machete wearing weave cutters, but that was a great image you just gave me. In all honesty, I do believe this is an important topic to discuss. Having a positive self-image within our community is important. Until little girls stop asking for relaxers, this is something we should continue to combat.

I want to see more of this:

I guess the issue I have, which the idiots who tried to come at me don't get is maybe we need to try changing our tone. People want to be talked to, not talked at. I don't agree with weaves and hair color but if she looks good, she looks good. It doesn't always have to involve spewing hate and creating animosity.

Whats wrong with simply telling a black woman "You're already beautiful, your complete. You don't need it" instead of agitating her, then blaming her for getting upset?

I agree with everything you said, self image is very important, however, I wish some people would put this much passionate into discussing the topics I mentioned. There are some posters who are more passionate about shytting on women with weave than the young lady in Detroit that got shot. In the end, I hear what you are saying.
