A beacon of enlightenment? I like that. Thanks for the title, i shall graciously accept it, and try my best to uphold it. Erm, you swore at me instead of trying to engage into an adult conversation. We can discuss this without cursing. If you are an advocate for weave then that's your right as a human being. I can psychoanalyze weave-wearers as much as i want. If the label doesn't stick, why get mad? Is it because deep down you know it's ABNORMAL to sew/stick on something that belongs to a random woman living in some third world country? You shouldn't be mad at me. Be mad at yourself for not learning how to love what God gave you!

I'll just say this...it doesn't make you sound very smart when you make assumptions about people just to try to win your argument. She clearly said she has been natural since 2005 and I believe her hair is currently in locs. :snoop:

I'm going to bet you have NO idea who/what I am ...but i'll let you keep perpetuating this meme.

I've long thought you were a publicist, probably lead, for Drake.

Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if you were Drake himself. :ld:

well something like 80% of weaves are purchased by black women, there are statistics on that. you can find them yourself if you're really interested.

I'm sure I'll look and NEVER find that statistic. Don't lie marcuz.

be my guest. im sure in your world it's a small minority that wears weave

According to a documentary titled, “The Korean Takeover of the Black Hair Industry” by Aron Renen, African-American women account for 70 percent of weave hair purchases — which equates to an estimated $15 billion per year.

Can you please link that article where you got that last quote?
nah, last time i went digging through google for you. you didn't even acknowledge it, you simply moved the goal post. if you dont believe 80% or even 70% of human hair purchases come from black women, cool. you can do your own searching if you'e really interested.

but i am curious, whats your % if you HAD to guess

I didn't say I didn't believe it. I asked you to post a source. Aren't people supposed to verify stats and numbers that people throw around? Do you take everything that someone says at face value? You are a fool if you do.

Now, I did listen to the first part of that documentary, and I will accept that black women purchase 70% of the extensions from Korean vendors. However, that is not to be confused with all vendors (white women overwhelmingly buy from slavic vendors). All together, I do think the number is very high and disproportionate to the actual population of black women.

This article mentions hair care spending to be around 30% based on a market research report. Its pretty up to date.

A lot more women are finding out that they don't need to buy hair and are investing in their own natural hair. Stop assuming every black woman with long, shiny hair isn't wearing her own hair. I've seen this on the rise where i'm at.
