I came to this country in 1996 with a visa. It expired in 2002, I was only 6 in 1996. My parents brought me into this country. I am currently 22, 23 in just a few days. I did 2 years of JROTC in HS. After I graduated I wanted to continue ROTC in college but was told no because of status in this country. I said ok maybe I can join the Army since they accept immigrants. They do, but only legal immigrants. My parents never renewed the visas. Since a little kid I wanted to serve in the armed forces after seeing pictures of my uncle in the NAVY. My dreams were shattered so I said fukk it, I had to resort to a college degree.


You don't know my hatred towards some of these privileged fukks that are citizens of this country and all they have to show for is a stupid GED or a rap sheet.

So no, not all illegal immigrants are criminals same as not all black people are those stereotypes people parade around.

There are more black immigrants than you know about. Alot of them in "illegal" status cause their visas expired. Here are just a few examples of productive members of society whose status just happens to be illegal.

One cousin who has a masters in divinity and is now in Med School.

One Uncle who graduated Pharmacy school last year

Another cousin with a Masters in IT and currently works as an IT professional and makes around 85K a year.

Another cousin working a warehouse job while pursuing his bachelors.

Now all these are real examples of law abiding, tax paying immigrants who just happened to over stay their visa. They are also black. Should we deport all of them or allow them to stay and repay the country for the opportunities provided to them.

There is an inherent problem with immigrants coming in from the Mexican border. The problem is that it can't be controlled. This is a security threat and it is a social threat.

The American government can control the number of Visas it issues to foreigners. The American government cannot control hundreds or thousands of people wandering over each day at the Mexican border. These particular immigrants are not applying for Visas.

I think this is the problem people have with this immigration issue. Just because a Trinidadian came and got his citizenship doesn't increase the numbers of Trini trying to come in, because they all must apply for Visas and/or Green Cards, which is controlled by the government.

These type of programs never really address the problem - the people coming here illegally. Also, these programs tend to send the bat signal to everyone else that they should come too.

I don't have a problem with immigrants, this nation is made from immigrants. However, America is not helping itself by allowing these problems to be ignored.

Before an amnesty is given, regardless of the conditions, the border must be secure. It must be secured from drugs and people. Then we can deal with the people who are already here. Without that, this amnesty issue will occur every few decades.

Also, it is pointless and insulting considering the many domestic problems we have, such as the one the OP mentioned. Also, I know many people with expired papers who managed to become citizens(without marrying), what is your family waiting on?

The US/Mexican border is 2000 miles long. While most places aren't easy to cross people will always find a way when they are desperate.

I highly doubt the numbers entering are net zero, because there is NO way to quantify it without estimates and guesstimates. There is no way to observe the amount of people who haven't been caught.
