I'm not going to light my cigar up for the Lakers just yet but LOL @ all the hurt feelings and wishful thinking in this thread.
Will Dwight's back be okay? He's never going to be the same! He's only a "slight" upgrade over Bynum! Nash can't defend! Bu bu but what offense will they run! They're going to need a year at least to gel! They're still not getting past OKC!
Obviously, we need to let it play out on the court but LOL @ saying they aren't going to get past OKC when a significantly worse squad was a few stupid plays away from being in position to be up 3-1 on OKC.
And none of the shyt about Dwight's back would be on anyone's mind if he was inking a deal with New Jersey, it only comes up as a potential issue when he's about to go to the team you don't want him to go to. We got back to the finals by merely adding Gasol MID SEASON in 2008 and won the ship two years in a row after. You think adding a HOF, game-changing point guard (a position we haven't been strong at since Magic retired) and a defensive/offensive upgrade at center isn't enough to get back to the finals?
If this goes down, you will be mad and scared. A few of you admitted it right here in this thread but the rest of you will figure it out come June.

Let's be reality for a second.You realize Andrew Bynum is right up there with Dwight Howard right? Some say he's better. Not me, but the simple fact that's debatable means something. It's not much of an upgrade.
Were the Lakers a threat last year? No. Not at all. They lost in 5 in the 2nd round to a team MIA beat in 5. That's A LOT of ground to cover.
Their only real upgrade is Nash. That's who you should be excited about. But even Nash, IDK. Kobe and LAL have won 5 titles with no true PG because that's the way Kobe likes it. It'll be interesting to see how that goes.
The bench is a joke too.
I'm not worried about LAL at all. I hope they do win the West because I wanna see the Bron/Kobe Finals but there is no guarantee LAL will be there. They got whupped by the Thundercats and all they did was upgrade the PG spot, which there is a chance that can actually be detrimental, and they swapped one of the best 2 centers in the game for the other top 2 center in the game.
If that gets you excited, then by all means... party it up. I guess the other 29 teams need something to celebrate.
