We know all those things, breh. We're simply saying if young American kids had no other options than soccer, and got shoved into it at 5-6 years old the way they typically do for football and baseball, by the time they get to the collegiate level, they'd be legit in soccer.

It's similar to heavyweight boxing. There was a time when it was the primary option for elite Black athletes to make a significant amount of money. As soon as the MLB, NFL and NBA became options, those elite Black athletes stopped boxing in large numbers and boxing has suffered as a result.

If tomorrow Black folks were banned from the NBA, MLB and NFL, America would have 15 heavyweight contenders in a matter of 5 years.

It's the same way in soccer in the United States. If it were the only option, the United States would dominate. The entire Pee-Wee-to-AAU-to-college pipeline would be 100% geared toward soccer. Universities like U of Florida, Alabama, Texas, Michigan, Georgia, etc. investing in soccer only!

In an alternate universe where there was no football, basketball, and baseball, and soccer was the number 1 sport in the united states we would most likely be an elite soccer nation.

It's not about big or fast. If little dudes only saw soccer as a way to make it in the United States, I can guarantee you the best soccer players would be in the United States. It wouldn't even be close.

We'd have soccer factories in California, Texas, Florida, Ohio, Michigan, etc. Big universities like Alabama, Ohio State, USC, Texas, Florida, Miami, Florida State, etc. would have incredible soccer programs.

What makes you so confident about that? As an American I take pride in knowing no one will beat us at football and basketball ever, but having played soccer it's a whole other beast. Even if we only had football as a sport or just Basketball it still wouldn't match up to Soccer around the world. It's literally a way of life to them.

cardio is the easy part. We got the agility and quickness to dominate soccer. Its much harder to play wide reciever / point guard. Soccer in comparison is light work

2- American sporting culture is not competitive.

A) At the age of 23 your best athletes are still playing at college against historians, engineers, etc. in True Football players play at the top level from age 18 against the GOATS, Messi won his first Ballon d'Or (world's MVP) when he was 22 years old.

B) American sporting leagues are pure communism, and communism is not competitive, the worst team is gifted with the best draft, teams play to lose so they can get the first draft, in True Football if your team sucks it gets relegated into oblivion.

3- Enhancing drugs don't work in True Football. American athletes are well-known worldwide for using steroids and other drugs... Steroids are useless in True Football and its system doesn't support athletes who use enhancing drugs unlike American sports.

So, if Americans want to be relevant in a true competitive sport then they should change their system and habits.

their parents would have to shove those kids in europe
that is the only place you can play competitive soccer

Soccer really requires special mix of power, finesse, agility and conditioning/durability. Change of pace, direction, touches on feet, how to put different spins on the ball, etc just insane amount of skillset you need to learn from a very young age. Also you really have to be mentally sharp to create space and angle. The US has raw talent pool no doubt but unless they overhaul the development system, it's not gonna happen.

I wouldnt say its a racial thing, brazil being mostly black or multiracial got absolutely fukked up by Germany who has one black player and a turk for diversity. Our best athletes wouod improve the team but its not that simple. Offside trap makes speed useless as does running with the ball. Too much strength is punished sometimes so thats not necessary. Ultinately the team with the best technique wins.
