If OKC doesn’t make the finals, do you think they will get a pass from the media/fans?

REGULAR SEASON MEANS NOTHING
IN 2025.

MOST VETERAN SQUADS DONT
GO ALL OUT IN THE REGULAR SEASON
LIKE THE YOUNG BOYS DO.

WHEN THE LIGHTS GET BRIGHT
YOUNG PLAYERS USUALLY DONT
RISE TO THE OCCASION.

SGA IS GONNA BALL OUT.

WILL HIS YOUNG TEAMMATES RISE
TO THE OCCASION IS ANOTHER STORY.

Which West teams are you confident will beat them in a 7 game series?

You're whining because your argument is based on trying equate teams that are not the same because your guy caught flack. Everyone is essentially telling you the same thing. The sanctimonious bullshìt isn't on my end of the screen.

You’ve somehow twisted my entire argument to make it seem like my reasoning for why I think OKC should at least get the Finals is based on Jayson Tatum critique. I’m honestly impressed.

Tatum & Luka were used as examples because they are both basically the same age as SGA. I could’ve left that whole piece out and only posted the 1st paragraph and it would’ve changed nothing about how I feel about OKC’s team.

I gave literally multiple reasons for why I think as highly of OKC’s team this year as I do that have nothing to do with Tatum or the Celtics but you got it breh

And you've somehow twisted my argument to make it seem like I don't believe they're good enough to get to the Finals, even though I've said it more than once.

You keep focusing on the age of the #1 guy and not of their supporting cast. 19 men have logged any type of minutes for the 24-25 OKC Thunder. 14 of them are 25 or younger. Since you wanted to bring up the KD-Russ-Harden group, 8 of 16 men were 25 or older, 4 were 30+.

Listing OKC's ingredients may not be about Tatum, but ignoring the tale-old-as-time law in sports of inexperience is a tactic to put Shai in the same boat when his team's experience and maturity level is simply not the same.

Maybe you should've left Tatum and Luka out then.

well nobody knows they exist. The media can't spend too much time talking about a team no one gives a shiit about. So the answer is no one cares,

DENVER, DALLAS, POSSIBLY THE LAKERS.
WE'LL SEE IF THE WOLVES GAIN CHEMISTRY.

THIS TEAM HAS ONLY BEATEN
A PELICANS TEAM WITHOUT ZION
IN THE PLAYOFFS.

THEY MAY TAKE THE LEAP
THIS YEAR BUT I WOULDN'T BET
MONEY ON IT.

In this decade of hoop that mirrors the 70s in which “everyone has a shot” the youth excuse goes out the window, 5 years in and we’ve had a different champion each time, now’s the time for OKC to capitalize before the realignment and rule changes shift the league and we go back to regularly scheduled dynasty programming

Or maybe you shouldn’t have took it upon yourself to brand my entire argument around Tatum & Luka when I clear as day explained in the first paragraph why I felt that way about OKC :manny:

2012 Thunder had an older 7-15 but ultimately their 4 best players were 22-23 and they beat 3 more experienced teams led by championship winning stars en route to the Finals.

Ultimately it sounds to me that we both agree that they have enough to make the Finals but if they don’t you feel like their youth should excuse them and right now I still think it would be a disappointment :manny:

Not this year, but definitely next season. Everyone should be at full strength.

San Antonio, Memphis should be in that boat as well (just the playoffs in San Antonio's case)
This will be their 2nd season finishing as a top 3 team out west. If they don’t get to at least the Finals this season, that convo will never had

Or maybe you shouldn't have said their names because it paints your argument in a particular light :manny:

Championships are won by more than the best 4 players and experience/maturity levels of supporting players steady young stars to execute. 2012 Thunder also beat the literal 2 oldest teams in the league in Round 1 and 2 (Mavs and Lakers) which is just the other extreme on the spectrum.

A team with an average age of 24.6 (4th youngest) who wasn't even in the playoffs 2 seasons ago absolutely gets excused with youth...as well as the fact that their 2A/2B player is never available.

I have no problem giving grace to a young team, but when you win 65+ games, have the MVP and the #1 defense…well expectations are higher

But this has gone on long enough, we can just agree to disagree

Pass for what? :what:

Nobody cares about OKC just like with The Cavs because they don't have real stars :mjlol:

Both could lose in Round 1 and aint nobody gonna care:mjlol:
