If OKC doesn’t make the finals, do you think they will get a pass from the media/fans?

I think they MIGHT get a pass but it'll depend a lot on who keeps them out of the Finals.
Anyone that watches the NBA knows OKC is legit. Question is.....have the casuals and NBA media caught up enough to raise their expectations on SGA and 'em?
My guess is next season will be the start of heightened expectations.

Also I’m not looking for a narrative. They’re a really fukking great team regardless of how young or old they are, therefore I have high expectations for them. I don’t think there’s a single team in the West that’s even arguably better than them.
I said exactly why I would view it as a disappointment if they don’t get to the Finals. They’re on pace for 68 wins (Which would tie for top 5 all time), they have the likely MVP, they have an all-star 2nd option, an elite C rotation, high quality role players, the #1 defense and the reigning COY. Hell we’ve seen several teams make Finals runs with less than that.
I’m not even saying they have to win the title this season nor am I saying if they don’t make a run they need to make major changes. But for this specific season - They are beyond good enough to make the Finals
If you feel Tatum & Luka wouldn’t be scrutinized if they failed to win with SGA’s supporting cast, then cool we can agree to disagree. As for the rest, I’m standing firm on that.
I said make the Finals, not win.
If OKC makes the Finals and loses to Boston or Cleveland, I would still consider that a successful playoff run. If Dallas beat y’all again in the 2nd or Memphis beat y’all in the WCF, would I? No.

They'll get a pass because they're still overachieving expectations. Now if they don't get a deep playoff run next year, then people will start to look at them sideways.

You are looking for a narrative. You're ignoring the unique combination of youth and dominance where the first of those two variables generally don't win a Finals or a Conference Finals. You're ignoring that the C rotation you keep bringing up features a Slenderman player we knew wouldn't have durability coming into the league.
Nobody told you they aren't good enough to make a Finals. We're telling you a team of 24 year olds on the 1st and 2nd units not doing it doesn't yet deserve the scarlett letter you're looking to give them, and that Tatum nor Luka won't be getting burned by media for missing a Finals while being damn near the oldest on the team.

They are young and I have no problem giving grace for that. Again, I’m not saying they should be put in that championship or bust bag or that Daigenault should be on the hot seat if they lose or they shouldn’t run it back if they lose or SGA can’t win as a #1 if they lose or nothing like that. Their long term future is great regardless
Imo they are by far the best team in the West (which they weren’t last year) and I would consider it a disappointment if they don’t come out of the conference because of everything they have going for them and how I think they compare to their West peers.
