There is a clear difference in approach between Crooked I and Lupe Fiasco.
Are you really putting these two in the same sentence?
You see how goofy the conversation can get once we start saying lyricism has different starting points.

You see how goofy the conversation can get once we start saying lyricism has different starting points.
What exactly are you trying to say? Why shouldn't they be put in the same sentence?
Crooked I is nice, but no where on the level of Lupe as far as lyricism.
If we are categorizing people based on what they do best, I can see how you would feel comfortable bring up Lupe and Crooked I in the same conversation.
Even other people bringing up Ras Kass or Common in the same convesaion as Jay is interesting, since Jay admitted he is not even as lyrical as Common or Talib. Jay is nice but no where on the level of Eminem.
Em would wash him on a track on some competitive shyt right now and forever really...but don't get it twisted.
They've said as much several times. Cole talks about him hanging up Em's lyrics in his bedroom once he decided for sure he was gonna be a rapper. Kendrick talks about him being a big influence as well, and you can hear it in his vocals/lyrics.
“The first time somebody said to me that they thought Eminem sounded like me, I personally didn’t hear that,” Ace explained to Montreality.com. “To me he sounded unique…he sounded like nobody that I had ever heard before.
“We all influence each other,” Ace added. “I listen to many different rappers. And sometimes I hear something in somebody’s flow that gives me an idea for how I wanna flow on my next joint…If it was something he took from me, he flipped it and made it his.” - Masta Ace
Masta Ace Talks Eminem Comparisons
Em was a huge fan of the SlaughtaHouse album and cites Ace as an influence but there is this misconception that he sharked his whole style. The truth is if you listen to both they didn't start sounding that similar until after MMLP dropped and for good reason. Ace out of his own mouth admitted he lifted flows and lines off that album. Case in point:
This sounds like "Stan" and it ain't because Em sounded like Ace on that particular track, it's the other way around.
Peep the opening line.
The influence between Ace and Em goes both ways.
Nah, the narrative is on point.
The difference is effort and application.
Jay-Z is a natural rapper.
Eminem is a "learned" rapper. He's extremely technical but lacks the rhythm and comfort with beats that jay has. He can't float on anything and has to attack at all times.
Eminem would be Percee P if he was black.
I'm not getting it twisted, just calling a spade a spade.
Crooked I is not Renegading Lupe or Jay Electronica on a track.
