if D.C. were smart they'd greenlight a "Vixen" movie to capitalize off the Black Panther hype

Would also pull in that feminist/Wonder woman crowd.

Now is the time

They are putting the success of black panther to the fact it was an ensemble. But more to the point when has a movie with a "black" (not mixed or any of that jazz) woman as lead that wasnt blaxploitation or a slave movie done well?

smh cacs, and white washed ass Negroes don't get it.
since the release of Blk Panther to massive success, ppl have been rushing to find the "next" Blk Panther...The next Blk super hero.
All the while, overlooking the finer details that led to Blk Panther's massive success, and set Blk Panther apart from other Movies, even Other Blk Movies.

First off lets get this out of the way, Blk Panther was well written, and directed. Now:

its not about blk heroes...
Blk Panther is not the first time a blk lead was in a position of power. Blk Panther is not the first Blk Super hero, or blk lead in an action flick. We had Shaft, Spawn, Blade, Cube in triple X, Denzel, Will, Samuel Etc. ........Under Cover Brotha, Meteor Man...Blink Man, Hell even SHAQ in Steel:mjlol:..

HOWEVER, BLK Panther was the first time since Eddie Murphy movies (Coming To America, Harlem Knights, Bommerang) where blk ppl as a COLLECTIVE was in a position of power, in control of their destiny. In Blk Panther Its wasn't just T'Challa.... it was Shuri, Mbaku, Killmonger, Okoye, W'kABI, ZURI, NAKIA, Ramona it was a COLLECTIVE. Also the finer details set Blk Panther apart , it's setting in Africa The mother Land depicted in Glory ranned by blk ppl working together in unison with nature. It was the traditional garments, traditional African spirituality, and Rituals, Dark Skin, Black Love, Nappy Hair...

Just running to make another blk super hero movie, or getting blk directors to direct a movie, or making blk characters the main focus in trailers ain't sufficient enough to capitalize off the hype of blk panther. :yeshrug:

I thought they got in the hole because they did the opposite of the MCU
They didn't do the opposite. They just took shortcuts in their attempt to duplicate the success. Short term they made more money with their second film (BvS) than the second MCU film (Incredible Hulk). Long term their big team up event film (Justice League) made less than every other dceu film. They still could have brought it home had the casting and other creative decisions (like whose creative vision to put in charge of the whole thing) been on point but they were hit and miss with that too. And thus we have this, panic and scrambling trying to decide what to do next.

I wouldn't be mad if they just scrapped the shared universe and went back to making standalones with great directors. Seems like they are kind of already shifting that direction.

No. We did the comic book wave now already. We gotta take this move further than another superhero movie..
I want that ''Egypt'' epic.....then I want A pan Afrcan game of thrones type show/epic 3 part movie featuring Zulus, Benin, Mali,Oyo,etc.......we get the different kingdoms instead of houses. I dont care if they have to fudge history a bit with the time lines but we need to see Sango and the like wrecking things onscreen as well guys like Mansa Musa.
We've only scratched the surface here.
There is so much people need to see onscreen.

Hidden Figures, Girls Trip

I agree with a lot of the points already brought up in this thread though. There were a lot of factors that went into making Black Panther such a success and simply doing another black superhero isn't a license to print money.

Vixen's power set would be cool to see with a bigger budget, compared to some of the struggle effects she has on Legends of Tomorrow :skip:
