If Bobby Hurley had been drafted in 2013 instead of 1993...

His shot annoyed me so much. It was kind of like Darren Collison where it looks like he’s taking a full court heave just to shoot a regular 3 pointer but at least Collison could make them.
EXACTLY!! :russ:

made that shyt seem like it was a medicine ball. :mjlol:

So Chris Quinn minus the jumper?
Yup, if Chris Quinn couldn't shoot and turned the ball over a lot, he'd be Bobby Hurley

He basically be David Stockton
Good comp except Stockton has nice fundamentals on his jumper. Hurley's jumper was a mess.

So look at Stockton, who can't even get out of G-League despite a nice jumper, and then imagine where he'd be if he couldn't shoot either

I dont think he'd even be as good as Ryan Arcidiacono who is the Bulls THIRD STRING PG....

Bobby's main issue is he couldnt shoot or score at all. Lack of athleticism isn't a dealbreaker but not being able to shoot def is.

For example Kirk Hinrich was average athletically at best but he was actually good for a while(at first) bc he had height (6'3"), he could hit 3s and could actually get to the rim a little. Could get steals too

Bobby had nunnadat
Yup. Arcidiacono is way bigger than Hurley and has that 3pt.

That's wild slander lol. :russ:

Collison's shot is a bit jerky but at least he pulls straight up and makes it look like a real jump shot.

Adbul Rauf is Steph Curry
Phil Jackson made that comp and way too many people running with it. Abdul Rauf's game had some similarities to Curry, but the most unique aspect of Curry's game is his insane range which Abdul-Rauf simply didn't have. Curry is a far better passer, defender, and a better finisher at the rim too. He's basically a much more complete player even those Abdul-Rauf does mimic 1-2 aspects of his game (the ability to use sick handles to create a small amount of space and then to score in bunches with nothing but jumpers).

Abdul Rauf and Mark Price were proto Curry....both would be successful in today's league
Abdul-Raul could be successful but he wouldn't be Curry-level successful. His ceiling would be more like Kemba.

I think Mark Price would make a career in the league, but I have a hard time imagining him playing at an all-star level. Short guys without next-level athleticism have a rough time in the modern NBA and really have to do obscene things with their game to get a shot off. I imagine him topping out as a somewhat less athletic Kyle Lowry without the defensive prowess. He'd start for the right team but he wouldn't carry them and would be a liability on one end.

Curry is not an exceptional passer or defender. They are about equal. Abdul-Rauf's skillset would be enhanced in this era

Hurley would be lucky to be drafted into today's NBA. A cat like Greg Paulus while solid at Duke didn't sniff the NBA i believe and that's about where Hurley would be at too in this era.

For guys that small, you either need insane athletic ability (like Iverson) or an ultra wet jumpshot (plus the ability to create space to actually get the shot off).

Hurley lacked both. If I want a pass first PG, I could just nab a Chris Paul.

This is jive talk. Curry is an exceptional passer, and always has been. And he was a better passer and defender than Abdul-Rauf.

Also Curry is three inches taller than Abdul-Rauf and has like 20 lbs on him.

Curry does have superior range, I wasn't saying their games were exactly alike....just reminiscent And Curry is just an average passer and defender but he has more height than Abdul Rauf

Price would be fine, he wasnt jumping out the gym but he was pretty quick and if you watch clips, he could split the double team. No reason he couldnt have a Lowry/Dragic type career in today's game....he wasnt a stiff out there. Defensively tho....yea :patrice: he could do 17/7 still

I think Curry is a very good passer. Not absolute first tier compared to the top PGs and LeBron, but he makes 2nd tier.

And yeah, Price as "Lowry with no defense" is where I think he belongs. Though Lowry is sneaky athletic, more so than Pierce is, Pierce probably had the better jumper.

hurley was trash in the league cuz of that car accident.

im not arguing that he would be poppin today, but he wouldve been at least quality in the '90s.
Yeah, Hurley even coming back from that is something I respect the fukk out of. Hard to say how good he was going to be without it, but perhaps he could have been a Muggsy-like floor general.
