If Bernard Hopkins beats Kovalev and Stevenson, he's higher on the ATG list than both Pac and Floyd

"Undersized" Marquez put Pac to sleep
Cotto was way passed it now? I'm starting to see some bias here :mjpls:
Mosley was passed it yet coming off his arguable greatest win :usure:
Oscar was passed it huh but he is fine weight drained and passed it on Pac's resume right :mjpls:

Who in boxing aside from maybe Manny has more hof guys on their resume, I'm about to put you in the Floyd hater category along with Black Jesus :camby:

Ain't nobody ranking Floyd off potential we're ranking him off dominance and resume.

You just destroyed your own argument against Floyd and UOENO :mjlol:

As far a Bhop we agree to disagree :manny:

:snoop:at you thinking I'm tearing down Floyd's resume, when I'm just comparing it to Roy, Hopkins, and Pac. If you get that impression that pretty much proves my point.

:snoop: at you missing the whole point of Floyd doing the same thing as Roy did, but not against the same caliber of opponents.

It's like you arguing just to argue.

I only mentioned the potential when it comes to Floyd when you said you could see him dominating for another 10 years. fukk I care about the next 10 years if he keeps fighting the Maidana's of the world.

It's not even worth debating this any further if you're comparing the JMM that Floyd fought to the one that KO'ed Pac. :what:Like I said you're reaching.

Cotto wasn't shot, but he was definitely past it, unless you the compare the drop of in performance and competition after the Pac fight.

Mosely is a good win, but it's not that GREAT win that it was for Forrest and Winky.

I respect ya knowledge but these last couple posts are suspect as fukk. :mjlol:

It's all opinion anyways, but me not ranking Floyd ahead of Roy, Hopkins, and Pac in ATG rankings is in no way a slight to his career. You sounding like a stan right now. I mean how far we gon take this. Am I a Floyd hater if I don't have him ahead of SRL too. I mean come on breh. Really.

:snoop:at you thinking I'm tearing down Floyd's resume, when I'm just comparing it to Roy, Hopkins, and Pac. If you get that impression that pretty much proves my point.

As for Floyd, you basing his ranking off potential. It doesn't matter if he fights until his 50's if he's only whupping the Maidanas and Guerreros of the world.

Your words. :sas1:

:snoop: at you missing the whole point of Floyd doing the same thing as Roy did, but not against the same caliber of opponents.

Floyd's resume has more hof fighters than Roy friend. So you're right it's not against the same caliber of opponents Floyd has faced the better fighters overall. Check their resumes and see who has more laundromat workers in it, sure as fukk isn't Floyd.

I only mentioned the potential when it comes to Floyd when you said you could see him dominating for another 10 years. fukk I care about the next 10 years if he keeps fighting the Maidana's of the world.

Just because you don't care for it doesn't mean that it's not making history or adding to his achievements. And besides Pacman what elite fighter is left for him to fight? If all that's left is the Maidanas and he is still beating them convincingly is that his fault?

It's not even worth debating this any further if you're comparing the JMM that Floyd fought to the one that KO'ed Pac. :what:Like I said you're reaching.

:dwillhuh:

what's wrong with comparing the Marquez that ko'd Pac with the one who didn't win one round off of Floyd?

Do you think the slower, older version would fair any better? :sas1:

Cotto wasn't shot, but he was definitely past it, unless you the compare the drop of in performance and competition after the Pac fight.

Mosely is a good win, but it's not that GREAT win that it was for Forrest and Winky.

You getting that work with your own words. I'm not the one looking suspect here friend.:sas2:

It's crazy how I go from being called a Pac stan one week to a Floyd stan the next. Could it be that I look at both of them without any bias either way? Nah it's that I'm a stan. :sas2:

Floyd resume suffers in the eyes of the casual fan because they feel like he never fought anybody that was an actual threat to him. Which is B.S. postfight revisionism. And while Floyd might not have a singular win as big as B-Hops or Roy's best, Floyd never fought the caliber of bums that both Roy & B-Hop fought in the Prime of their careers. Generally, Floyd has fought high caliber opponents for the majority of his career.

I'm not even trying to throw shade on anybody because Floyd, Roy, Pac, and Hopkins are all ATGs in my eyes.

I just find it kinda contradictory that anyone can have Hopkins ahead of Roy all time wise, but not ahead of Floyd.

I mean if Hopkins did enough to surpass Jones (even though he lost to dude in his prime), then he's certainly done enough to surpass Floyd, even though Floyd's best wins don't really stack up to Hopkins best wins. I just don't get the logic, but okay. :manny:

If Floyd fought as much as Roy and Hopkins did during their primes, he'd have more bums on his resume too. SRL doesn't have that many fights, but he has his fair share of bums mixed in there with Duran, Wilfredo, Hearns, and Hagler, but lets just remember him for getting that work against Camcho and Norris. :youngsabo:

But he lost to Calzaghe though :scusthov:

You say that as if Joe Calzaghe wasnt the Undisputed WBA/WBC/WBO/RING Super Middleweight Champion and instead was a bum and Bernard Hopkins wasnt 43 years old:ohhh:

Manny lost to Bradley, it was a robbery (Bradley over Manny), but a loss is a loss and Bradley was not held in the same regards as Calzaghe at the time of Manny vs Bradley compared to Hopkins vs Calzaghe:yeshrug:

And Bernard Hopkins won the Calzaghe fight on the ringside media's scorecards (AP, ESPN, and Yahoo Sports) as well as 1 of the 3 judges gave it to him as well. It was a close fight.

i honestly don't take the opinion of these boxing historians serious. they give toooooo much credit for all the fighter back in the day. i respect the benny leonards, sandy saddler, willie pep, ezzard charles, joe louis, jack johnson, and srr (and yes i have seen all of them fight before) etc but people need to stop acting like they head and shoulders (untouchable) with the likes of guys of today, like hopkins, floyd, and manny.
They're not untouchable when it comes to talent. But when it comes to accomplishments and shyt, it's hard for the younger generation of fighters to touch the older ones. That's why I say I don't really believe you can have a new era fighter in the Top 10, Floyd included. The game has changed so much, and it favors older fighters when taking into account accomplishments/rankings and whatnot.

In the old days, there was 1 champion per division. That means in order to be champion, you had to fight the top guy in your division and defend it against the top guy. If you didn't defend within like 60 days, you would get your title stripped. Also, there were only 10 divisions. So there were 10 belts. That's it. Today there are 17 divisions with 4 belts per division (IBF, WBA, WBC, WBO) so there's 68 world championship titles out there (and that's not even counting all the minor bullshyt belts that I'm not even counting) That's kind of crazy if you think about it. Plus alot of these fighters like Floyd get special treatment because of the money they generate (there has been times where Floyd has gone over a year without making a single title defense). And boxers today have alot more freedom to pick and choose who they fight and which of the 4 titles they want to go after.

You have old time fighters like Sugar Ray Robinson and Henry Armstrong that were fighting in multiple divisions and holding multiple world titles. At one point Henry Armstrong had 3 world titles in 3 different divisions (featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight). So he held 3 out of the 10 titles and he was fighting guys at 15-20 pound weight disadvantages. That's unheard of in today's era.

So as far as accomplishments, I don't think any fighter from the new era can really be considered the GOAT or really Top 10 for that matter. The sport has changed too much and its not really an even comparison. Just the way I look at it though :yeshrug:

I came to post nearly the exact same shyt.................... But mines had "white boy" instead of Calzaghe

I tend to stay away from idiotic @Newzz threads when fight time is lingering for Broner

This is a great thread....as you can see from all the feedback from the knowledgable posters:sas2:

His best wins were vs fighter 2 divsions lower
He got ran out his division by a bum ass Taylor

Therefore cut that shyt out lil nikka, because honestly legacy wise as far as this era goes, it may not be just Floyd who's in front of him, Manny may be ahead also

Nobody is saying that Hopkins is ahead of Manny or Floyd currently:ufdup:

If he beats Kovalev and Stevenson, it can be argued that Hopkins has the better resume. Anybody saying otherwise is fooling themselves.

Matter of fact, why am I defending Hopkins? That's @krackdagawd area of expertise since he knows more about B-Hop than i do:yeshrug:
