If Andre 3000 was from NY, would he be universally accepted as the GOAT?

No. Four "group" albums we won't count The Love Below. His partner is just as good most of the time he raps 2-3 times a year. He doesn't have enough material.

Havent's heard the song but the media, rap elite and a lot of artists are losing their minds on twitter over the Andre verse on Sixteen... I suppose this is what inspired this thread aswell?

He one of the best to ever do it in terms of talent and quality with Outkast and guest verses.

But to be a GOAT, you need to hold down a few solo albums for me to consider you.

Talent wise he dope as fukk and TLB was a great experimental album....one rap song though :ld:

No way near enough solo work to even come close to saying something like that.

What rapper doesn't have all the time in the world to do a whole album.

yall act these rappers on some tight time schedule, or don't have enough time to drop sick albums. THEY DO, if they choose to... Put they trying to get paid mainly.

All these nikka's time is equal.

Alot of the so called goats have 1 great, MAYBE 1 good album.... And even then is it based off just having a great album or straight lyrical skills or both?

If its both then alot of the GOAT rappers need to be re evaluated. And all kinda GOATS should be running around.

Dre puts out High Quality work, why would that change just because he drops a album? He's not like a Wayne that just puts stuff together for a couple bars of entertainment but he illegitimately has something to say every verse hook or song.

Who told u nikkas have all the time in the world to make an album..u never heard of deadlines?..lol..and even if they do have all the time and their time is equal...he doesn't utilize it the same way so it defeats the whole point of what u sayin...

Dallas by way of Houston by way of San Antonio
Is is region racism?

Nah, problem is the South has so many different sounds. You can't lump Houston, Atlanta, Miami, Memphis and New Orleans into one group. The West = California as a state...to me, there's not a lot of diversity in the sound of west coast music. The East is sorta the same in that there's not a ton of diversity. Heavy emphasis on lyrics with not a ton of over-production on the beats (B.I.G. was an exception...he matched that lyrical prowess with some cinematic bangers). Jay is as well.

Point I'm trying to make is there's so many different sounds in the South based on the whatever region a rapper is from, it's tough for one guy to really be seen as the King of the South (sorry Tip). ATL says hail Dre, Houston says hail Face, etc. Hard to send a southern dude like Dre to the table of GOATs when his own region can't agree on who the best is.

It's not a solo album regardless of how you try to spin it. Gangstarr isn't a duo:stopitslime:? You got nikkas in here trying to say The Love Below isn't a solo album when he produced majority of it so how do you rationalize ERIC B & Rakim albums being solo? Besides The 18th Letter his solo albums are horrible. If anything they hurt his legacy brah:mjpls:
