At this point I would not be surprised if WW3 ends up being with America and Israel

NDTV Exclusive: How Hamas Assembles and Fires Rockets

Video grab of a rocket being assembled and fired

Gaza: In the minutes before the ceasefire kicked in at Gaza this morning, Hamas fired a flurry of rockets towards Israel - 30 according to some counts.

Israel has argued that that these rockets are fired from civilian areas, and this is why its retaliatory strikes can result in civilian casualties.

But this morning, NDTV witnessed one such rocket silo being created under a tent right next to the hotel where our team was staying. Minutes later, we saw the rocket being fired, just before the 72-hour ceasefire came into effect.

It began with a mysterious tent with a blue canopy that bobbed up yesterday (August 4) at 6:30 am in an open patch of land next to our window. We saw three men making a multitude of journeys in and out of the tent, sometimes with wires.

An hour later, they emerged, dismantled the tent, changed their clothes and walked away.

The next morning - today - we woke to news of the 72-hour ceasefire but just before it was to take effect, the rocket next to our hotel was fired. There was a loud explosion and a whooshing sound. The cloud of smoke that rose was captured by our cameraperson.

This report is being aired on NDTV and published on ndtv.com after our team left the Gaza strip - Hamas has not taken very kindly to any reporting of its rockets being fired. But just as we reported the devastating consequences of Israel's offensive on Gaza's civilians, it is equally important to report on how Hamas places those very civilians at risk by firing rockets deep from the heart of civilian zones.

With Hamas firing these rinky dink rockets, that's not killing anyone. Let's look at three scenarios

1) If Hamas took hostage a school containing 100 Israeli school children, and they fired rockets from that school using the Israeli school children as human shield, would Israel bomb that school? HELL NO

2) If Hamas took hostage a school containing 100 American school children, and they fired rockets from that school using the American school children as human shield, would Israel bomb that school? HELL NO

3) If Hamas took hostage a school containing 100 Palestinian school children, and they fired rockets from that school using the Palestinian school children as human shield, would Israel bomb that school? No country would ever allow it self to be attacked

Let me know if am wrong

Japan, but from the 989
I see the cease fire has started again....

One of two things probably has happened.

1. Israel is finding out how much those missiles really cost compared to how many Hamas members they are killing. Is it really worth the cost?

2. Netanyahu had his collar pulled by Obama. He has been running his mouth left and right but when the State Department stated that the bombing of the UN school was not good and they expected more from Isreal...they immediately started pulling back. They may be crazy but they aren't crazy enough to piss off the only country keeping them being bombed into the sea.....

Ireland's largest grocery and food distributor SuperValu boycotts Israeli products

Ireland's largest grocery and food distributor SuperValu has withdrawn Israeli products from its shelves as the conflict in Gaza continues.

In a group-wide email to its 232 stores nationwide, it stated that products originating from Israel were to be withdrawn.

"It's mostly fruit and vegetables, carrots and herbs more specifically," a source from the retailer told the Herald.

SuperValu is part of the Musgrave Group which includes 462 Centra stores around the country.

It is not understood if the withdrawal of the products extends to Centra shops as well.

The call to remove the Israeli products was made last Friday.

In the notice it said: "The above product (carrots) is being withdrawn from sale. There is no Food Safety or Quality Issue associated with this withdrawal."

The above statement was made in relation to the "nature of the issue".

The action advised was to "remove all stock from available sale and dispose of at store level".

The company also stated that "customer returns (on the product) should be honoured".

The circular was sent to all store managers and was effective from the date of receipt.

Musgrave is a family-owned business operating since 1876. Including its retailers it is Ireland's biggest private sector employer, with a staff of 60,000.

The group had not responded to requests for comment at the time of going to print.

Meanwhile, Irish and Leinster rugby star Gordon Darcy took part in a protest with 2,000 people supporting the people of Palestine. His Exchequer Bar was one of the first in the capital to ban the use of Israeli products.

And toy store Smyths had a poster in its Jervis Street window over the weekend stating that it had removed products made in Israel from the shelves.

When the Herald visited the city centre store the sign had been removed and staff said they would not be commenting on the matter.

A spokeswoman for the toy stores said: "One store last week took several products from one country off its shelves. This decision has now been reversed.

"We do not engage in national or international political affairs."
