You know the great irony in all this is that when the Palestinians we're ACTUALLY insane, like I mean they we're impossible to negotiate with, nobody wanted to help them, they we're prone to violence and actually started a bunch of shyt from time to time, they actually had :

1. No settlers in the West Bank

2. Israel shook as fukk to bomb

3. No stupid fence/border crossings

4. No mass murders like the 3 in the last 7 years

5. They got Israel to the table directly and made them sign deals

6. The Oslo Accords

As soon as they pacified and stopped the suicide bombings and violence they've lost massive amounts of land, they're getting butchered, and it is impossible to get Israel at the table. The Palestinians we're betrayed by peace brehs.

They've been lucky this hasn't gotten much worse than it could have, I can't imagine how rough it would be if the West Bank were as militant as Gaza.

I'm not going to answer that because I don't sympathize with colonizers. I'm not going to sit here and say it's ok for Israel to do the bullshyt it does I understand it but I'm not going to justify or accept that its right, if anything it's Israel's behavior that's helped greatly in creating such a fukked up situation now.

This basically.

@Napoleon, i guess we just have completely different views on the matter. of course, in an ideal world, myself and most posters here would condemn hamas for shooting rockets that dont have the sufficient targeting technology and thus "potentially" harming civilians. but as most posters already have pointed out, based on the history of their actions and this conflict - israel will not stop its endless violence and ongoing occupation even if hamas rolled over today and said they were done fighting. a population living in an open air prison being bombarded on relentlessly can either lay down and die or try to fight back ... and there will always be a percentage of the population angry and upset enough to want to retaliate ... especially since, you know, seeing their newborn child/mother/father/brother/sister/etc just blown to bits in front of them. unless israel changes their approach, this will not change because even if hamas was obliterated today, another resistance movement will take its place, made up of angry palestinians who have lived in these inhumane conditions forced upon them by israel, who have seen their civilian family and friends die in front of them routinely. if israel truly wanted peace and an end of the conflict, they would cease their disproportionate military assault as they are only fueling the next "hamas" or whatever group who would only see israel as an enemy and not as a neighbor who they may be able to negotiate with ... but that's clearly not what they want

the might is power stance sounds great when you are the one with all the power and resources, and is the same perspective every colonial oppressive power has taken throughout history. i guess if you were ever put in the other side of the coin you'd empathize more, iunno bruh :manny:

i'm not saying you support israel, but i will say to you as i have to many others who've claimed neutral in this conflict (or any other type of conflict like this for that matter) ...

I mean it's too late now but I feel like if they had kept up the hostility they would have got better results :manny:

I mean now with the settlements and the roads cutting villages away from one another in the West Bank I feel as if even at best Israel wouldn't allow a separate Palestinian state. The right wing is more powerful now than ever and it doesn't look like that's going to change any time soon. Their best bet now is a unity government and getting global opinion, including American public opinion on their side with marches and non violence to force the governments of those nations to put serious pressure on Israel. They got great results when they went to the U.N. and the Israeli's looked absolutely insane and unjust.

I remember how people we're like :wtf:

A true embarrassment, this is what they're afraid of. That's why they started this nonsense to stop the Unity Government.

I understand this but HAMAS isn't really helping their cause as a matter of their rhetoric. Its not as simple as people want it to be.

a population living in an open air prison being bombarded on relentlessly can either lay down and die or try to fight back ... and there will always be a percentage of the population angry and upset enough to want to retaliate ... especially since, you know, seeing their newborn child/mother/father/brother/sister/etc just blown to bits in front of them. unless israel changes their approach, this will not change because even if hamas was obliterated today, another resistance movement will take its place, made up of angry palestinians who have lived in these inhumane conditions forced upon them by israel, who have seen their civilian family and friends die in front of them routinely.
Not even debating that.

if israel truly wanted peace and an end of the conflict, they would cease their disproportionate military assault as they are only fueling the next "hamas" or whatever group who would only see israel as an enemy and not as a neighbor who they may be able to negotiate with ... but that's clearly not what they want
Every conflict inspires future combatants, but I've rarely seen anyone take such an idea seriously. Its always those on the sidelines who remark about the potential to sustain insurgency.

Who said I didn't empathize.

I DO empathize...but the palestinian argument is too complex to dilute to a black or white stance.

I have never really supported israel in my life. I've always found their behavior to be disgusting and utterly deceitful, especially if you look at the brutality of Mossad towards the USA (word up to Jonathan Pollack) and other nations.

I have no dog in the fight, but I do find arguments on both sides to be lacking. I'm just point that out.
