Trae Young should study Bibby. He’s not tall enough or really good enough to be Nash or Steph

Can we stop with the not tall enough argument? Is Chris Paul not 5'11 ? Was Jon Stockton not 6 feet? Is Isaiah Thomas not 5'8?

Anyways, I think Trae has the ability to be a better passer than Steph (probably already is or close to it) and a better scorer than Nash (Nash had 2 seasons in his career where he avg 18 ppg, albeit on excellent efficiency) if he reigns in on shot selection.

I think Trae can be a legit 20+ points and 8-10 assists type of guy which would put him somewhere in the blend of CP3, Steph, and Nash :yeshrug:

You don't like the Nash comparison?

That's his best bet right now to be a pass first point guard that can hit 3 when needed. Nash wasnt Nash till later in his career if trae takes that route he can have a decent career cuz he does have good court vision. If he tries to go curry he's in for a rude awakening.

Those guys you named are completely different players with different skill sets and way more toughness. Those guys are dogs on both ends. Trae doesn’t have that and that’s fine.

I’m high on Trae but he doesn’t need to try to be Steph or Nash; he’s not nearly that dynamic of a scorer. People think of Nash as a small guard but his size helped him a lot, same with Steph.

Yahoo is now part of Oath

I try to be Steve Nash more than Steph. I do blend Nash and Steph a lot, but my favorite player growing up was Steve Nash. I get a lot of Steph comparisons, and I agree I do have a few attributes that are similar to Steph. But Steve Nash is a Hall of Famer, though, and Steph will be one day, too. I know I always have to show and prove my passing ability. I have to get better on that aspect, and I definitely work on that a lot.”

“I shoot my shots, and sometimes they’re going to go in, sometimes they’re not. I live with that. Everyone on the outside might come down on me, but I put in the reps so I’m confident every time I shoot.”

“This Summer League has been a good test for me to stay focused, a good test to make sure that I keep a good mindset. It’s a test and I have to continue to handle it well. I want to be the face of us continuing to grow as a team and rise as a franchise.”

IMO...this would be a win for the Hawks being able to move Dennis without bringing back a bad contract. This free's the Hawks cap flexibility moving forward.

Baze and Plumlee are the only two bad contracts left and I really wouldn't mind keeping Baze.

Also, I wonder if this means Lin is almost back from the injury, if not, I wonder who will run the backup point :jbhmm:
