Yea I'm trying to make sense of it...Lin is on the last year of his deal and is coming off patella tendo injury. If he can play he could be a mentor for Trae and is a solid PG, but his value as a mentor is significant only if Schroeder is gone (which has to be one of the main reasons they made this deal).
The Hawks had two non guaranteed contracts left on the roster so this takes up one of those spots but yea I'm not sure I get this one. Trading places on second round picks in 2023 and 2025 is insignificant long term (and hopefully this team is competing way before then). Yea it's a head scratcher
Lin is good for marketing but he likely won't see the court to December. It is what it is. I would have rather Denver 1st and 2nd rounder.
