I've always bought the Trae hype. Any nikka that can shoot, pass, and handle the ball the way he does at an elite level is prototype for today's NBA. To me, he's a modern day Steve Nash with a deadlier 3 pt shot.

I also knew the second half of his college season would happen because of how ass that Oklahoma team was. Mutherfukkas straight up triple teamed that nikka :russ:.

Won't be able to do that in the NBA, especially if he surrounded by shooters which Travis is doing.

When it came down to Trae vs Doncic, Trae's shooting ability give him the edge. They both will be ass on defense :yeshrug:

Deadlier 3 point shot? You doing too much. Steve Nash never hunted his shot, Trae will. Nash footwork and assortment of flip shots in the paint would be a blessing if Trae added to his bag. The jury is still out on Trae as a passer, either he struggled punishing teams for swarming him or it was his supporting cast.

Trae shoots better than Doncic (though the NCAA line is shorter than the FIBA) but Doncic has better vision and can make passes Trae can't given his size, better rebounder, and will be able to abuse switches given his unique physical profile as a 6'8 240-250 guard. Both are unlikely to be ISO guys or high level finishers at the rim in the half court.

You got baze coming off the bench or off the team?

Baze was Bud's people and it's not like he got the woat moniker for no reason.

Regarding the Mavs pick, I honestly don't see how they don't have the worst/2nd worst record in the West. They got better but so did every team in that conference.

This team won't dikk around like last season and not have the worst record/2nd worst. They'll eventually get Dennis and Baze out of here. Just need to work with Dennis throughout the year and have him professional enough until a trade makes sense.

With that said, I'd like Trae to come off the bench in the meantime. Let him build confidence vs. 2nd stringers so the transition to starter won't be too bumpy.

Of course the ATL
So what y’all think bout trae? How long y’all giving him before he’s an allstar/rotation/bust

Here's my take on the whole situation:

Schlenk and Co knew it would come down to a decision on Doncic & Trae. Ayton was already a lock to Phoenix and Sacramento was breaking to Bagley. When news came out early this wk about the Hawks thinking Jaren Jackson was "soft" it was clear a decision would be made on either Doncic or Young. The Hawks got who they believe has the higher ceiling, is a lights out shooter, a great passer and has a fun game to watch. They knew they could get additional value for the #3 pick/Doncic and got it. It was a masterful move by Schlenk IMO

Trae will be an All Star within 3 years, all NBA in 4. He'll be All Rookie 1st or 2nd team this year...I'm confident that Schlenk and Co wouldn't bet the farm on a guy unless they were absolutely sure he was worth it. Trae is the new face of the franchise now and I can't wait to see him in action in summer league

Nash was a great shooter :patrice:
Yes?

One of 7 guys to ever have a 40 - 50 - 90 season. 40% from 3 50% FG and 90 % FT and he did it for 5 straight seasons.

Curry, Durant , Mark Price, Reggie Miller , Dirk and Larry Bird are the only other people to ever do it

The fact that your post got daps is embarassing

We get it, you don't like him...but what I don't understand is that in every thread on him you one of the first ones in there.

He's a shock jock similar to alotta posters who post crazy shyt. He says shyt for a narrative & reaction. But Cowherd has an interesting show and approaches sports from different angles (sometimes it's complete nonsense, sometimes it's :ehh:) it's not the first time he's been very wrong and not the last time either

#Hawkset come get your boy

@#1 pick @staticshock @Atlrocafella @FreshFromATL @Mr Hate Coffee @portcityplaya

I have faith that you guys will handle this internally. It's a bad look for y'all :birdman:
