Ice T always says he didnt know it was ok for rappers to fake back then... he didnt know rappers was renting cars for videos, renting jewels, hiring video models

all the cars, guns, girls, and jewels in his videos back then was really theirs

High Rollers video is a good example

Is it? Out of that 100 grand you would get maybe 15 or 20 fencing it. Split that 2 or 3 ways and you get a few Gs for taking major risks. By contrast, depending on his hustle a crack dealer could make that in a day or two.

Don't get me wrong though, dude was definitely a cowboy. It just seems that he could have chosen a more lucrative hustle.

the average drug dealer was not making 20gz in 2 days..... if you're only gettin 2 grand a week sellin crack you're doing pretty good

to be honest if a drug dealer has 20grand in his shoe box at the end of the year he did a hell of a job... the average drug dealer ends up in jail before he can save up to 20grand

so if you come up on a quick 20gz thats wut u call a serious Lick

you have to remember it cost money to make money... thats in the drug game or the music business

Ice T said he struggled when he was trying to make it in the music industry... he sold his cars, jewels and all that and invested in studio time, equipment... the whole 9 (pause)

I thought he was a Pimp and a petty criminal. I remember him saying one time Tookie Williams disrespected one of his girls, and he checked the girl after she ran in the house wanting Ice-T to defend her honor. So, he wasn't like 50 Cent having shoot outs in the Queens.

he was also an Army Ranger

Still doesn't change the fact Ice-T was active in one the most dangerous cities in America. But kids are calling 50 Cent soft, so I think being about that life means almost nothing in this environment to be successful.

That's now NOT back then. They were making paper in the '80's which is why crime was so high, everyone wanted more money because it was so easy to get because damn near everyone was getting high. I think Ice was just a smart man and knew the violence that came along with drug dealing, especially in a gang infested area, so he chose quick licks which makes sense because even though the money isn't the same it's faster than drug dealing(if you do enough of them) and the risk is lower for violence and doing time. If you get caught with ki's you can get football numbers if you rob a bank or jewelry store maybe 5-10 years and that's if you get caught being that you did it out of town.
