the whole point of that scene was that marlo had no rep left, but omar's name was still ringing out as a legend.

after all hes been through, marlo got exactly what stringer wanted but no had use or desire for it. irony at its best, esp since marlo was one of the dominos that led to stringer's fall. wouldnt surprise me if marlo said fukk it and got right back in the game and took out fat face rick and slim charles for the hell of it. he was a sociopath
Omar is a legend. But at the same Hexagram loves to quote the writers well the writers said Kennard was imitating Omar in like season 3 but in the final season Kenard see's omar for the first time and he's unimpressed and then he later kills him. So apparently Kenard was imitating Omar based on legend as opposed to actual recognition. That gies back to Marlo and the corner scene.

:wow:

Fred coming with that blue meth purity on The Wire. What you like more, The Wire or Breaking Bad?

Who was your favourite character?

A lot of cats don't know "The Wire" was my GOAT before "Breaking Bad". After season 4, and 5A I considered them equal then "BB" pulled ahead for me in the final 8 eps.

Both shows are basically #1 to me. 1A and 1B.

My favorite character was Avon Barksdale. My favorite season was 4. I would put 4 against any season of "BB", and you know I'm a huge "BB" fan, so that says a lot.

My favorite scene was Randy in the hospital, when Carver goes to see him. Just incredible.

Fred.

kernard is an exception: hes another pyschopath. he was getting ready to burn a cat alive before he killed omar :bryan:

:deadmanny: had no idea saw it on espn of all places

I'm :old: so I didn't expect you to know that breh. I never personally played it but back in the 80's "D&D" was all over the news as devil worship, leading to violence and suicide, all kinds of shyt. It was hard to avoid info on it growing up. Obviously this was all bullshyt, kinda like when a kid shoots up a school and they blame it on rap music or video games. Same thing.

That was a good scene. The show had a lot though, I doubt it would crack my top 5.

Omar was my fav. I always found season 1 to be the best, followed by 4. I've watched the show twice, maybe in a few years I'll watch it again.

LOL@Marlo killing the security guard for nothing. Marlo wanted to be the king. The security guard tested him, not once, but twice. You can't let no nikka check you like that. Dude was copping pleas but dude still stepped to him after eyeballing him crazy. Personally I feell Marlo should've just whipped his, but other than his final scene he seemed to back down from real confrontation.
I don't know about this one. Nobody was punking Marlo.

:what:

Marlo could've killed 100 no name security guards. It doesn't matter. He would never be "the king". Which is why the two dudes at the end had no idea who he even was, let alone know that he was supposed to be feared/respected.

I think it's hilarious they kill the security guard for "checking" Marlo over a sucker, but were :whoa: about Omar blatantly shytting all over his name and reputation in the streets.

Fred.
Yeah, but Marlo didn't know. Had he known Omar had been shytting on him I think we all know that it would have played out a lot differently.

If you believe that Avon would've respected that ref if he said "fukk you", you gotdamn crazy. And I'm pretty sure Joe was like we ain't killing nobody over a basketball game.

Avon & Joe were kings.

Marlo wanted to be king. Marlo was still making his name. Of course he gonna move differently.
I think it's important to note as well that Marlo was probably 23 or 24 while Avon, Stringer, and Prop Joe were in their 30s (Joe was probably 40+). Marlo was on the come up and those others had already solidified themselves in the game.

An exception to what?

in the end:

anyone rational (exception pyschos like kenerd) was scared of omar, even on 1 leg. after he died- his name was still ringing out to normal people

no one gave a fukk about marlo after he left the game. chris and snoop did all his dirty work. and omar dragged his name through the mud before he died to anyone who'd listen.

i remember fiending for an omar-marlo showdown during season 5... that controntation was building up esp after the "my name is my name" scene... that wouldve been :banderas:

Marlo would've sent his people to get murked. :yeshrug:

They didn't want any problems with Omar. Chris was worried Omar was gonna come murk his family. He was stressing over it.

They avoided telling Marlo because they knew he would've sent them against Omar, and none of those dudes wanted that.

I don't care why Kennard killed Omar. I'm saying he was aware of Omar and his legend without actually ever seeing him. Just the same as them young nikkas on the corner. Maybe they knew Marlo's legend, but didn't know his face. That shyt happens. But even still Marlo took the corner.
