Winning an Oscar generally does two things.


1).It leads to an increase in the box office gross of the film you starred in, produced, directed, etc. Movies that win the big ones at the oscars (Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress) usually get re-releases off the hype of their winning

2). The salary of the actor usually increases DRAMATICALLY after winning. Examples include Jamie Foxx, after winning the Best Actor Oscar for Ray, was able to renegotiate his contract for the movie Miami Vice to include a salary increase (making him higher paid than co-star Colin Farrell) top billing, and use of a private jet instead of flying commercial. Halle Berry, after winning Best Actress for Monster’s Ball, was able to negotiate a $14 Million Dollar payday for Catwoman. Daniel Kaluuya, after winning Best Supporting Actor for Judas & The Black Messiah, was given his highest pay day to date of $4 Million for the film Nope.

That’s important too on a personal level, but that Marlon special actually said a whole lot.

Will lost A LOT by doing this slap. A lot of projects got shelved even if temporary, it fukked up his squeaky clean image… That’s an example of fighting in front of white folks.
