I hate that “New Yorkers want to win now” cliche that media and now idiot Hal buys into. We will wait on young promising players like any other fans

"Yankees don't rebuild, they retool" :unimpressed:. Making the playoffs the last 6 years convinced Hal/Cashman that whatever they're doing is working and led to a refusal to fix the glaring problem this team has. They need an overhaul in the worst way and have needed one for years.

the best way to be cheap AND keep fans interested is with young homegrown guys. That 2017 season proved we'll be fine watching young players grow because that team was expected to be .500 at best.

if by the end of '24 half the lineup is Judge, Volpe, Wells, Dominguez and Peraza, we're fine. The Rangers wrote to their fans that they were gonna start over and not many complained. NYCFC is starting over and we understand as long as the young guys show us something. It's obvious the Yankees are scared of young players because they know they're not the best at evaluating talent after a certain point.
Not only that, but they have the capacity to be great every year if they’re willing to regularly pay the tax instead of having mass salary dumps every few years to reset it which means taking on bad players on the end of bad deals and if they did hit on their picks, they’d have to pay them long term, which they don’t want to do because avoiding the tax is Hal’s top priority. The last position player they brought in on a free agent deal for more than 2 years from another team was ellsbury.

Ya already about my thoughts on Boone. But I'm being serious when I say this: He should be fired tomorrow morning. I didnt watch any of the second game. But I read that Volpe swing at the first pitch, out of the strike zone, down 3.

That's Boone in a nutshell. No discipline. Whatever grasp he had on this team, which wasn't much, is completely gone. He's lost this team.

The next guy is gonna be a puppet. But they need a new voice.

This team is deadass the Kansas City Royals without Judge
They look 2018 orioles status besides him and Cole. I’ve never seen a Yankees team look this lifeless or uninterested. They’re like the late 2000’s rams or mid 2000’s raiders.

Wont change anything. Would be like when the cowboys canned Wade Phillips. The guy who replaced him sucked just as hard if not more and was there for a decade while nothing ever really got any better and then his replacement was a guy who sucks too because no good coach wants to work for their GM/owner. Firing Boone is a half measure, like putting a bandaid on a gunshot wound. Hard to see any manner in which it would improve anything since the source of the problem would be replacing him. No point in making any moves at all unless it starts with firing cashman & Randy Levine.

Making Boone the scapegoat is a necessary evil. First, it's a message to Brian that his experiment failed. And two, it'll finally get Cashman's feet closer to the fire by the media, because now they'll have to address the horrible roster construction

I get the thought process, but it’s not just ego preventing cashman from getting his shyt together. He’s genuinely this incompetent and we know it because he’s developed 2 position players (1 in the last 18 years) and 0 starting pitchers in his 26 years on the job. As for the media, do we even have any left in this market that weren’t essentially bought off or openly employed by the team?

the media doesn't go after the team outside of sports talk radio guys who say a lot of bullshyt hoping to get publicity. The fans do, and we're dangerously close to Knick territory where the same fans who complain are the same ones who cop a chicken bucket only to eat 1 tender and 4 fires.

I was NEVER on board with Boone from day one and mans continues to be exposed.

His thing this season is spazzing out and getting ejected. But the team ain’t doing shyt when Judge ain’t there. Stanton — for someone on his level — is invisible. And the rest of this roster is 2022 reheated minutes bum ass Hicks.
