shout out to the Mutts who gift wrapped Verlander for practically nothing to the Astros but if the Yankees wanted their 25th man on the bench they wouldve asked for Volpe, half the farm , and a percentage ownership of the team

Yankee fans in the early 90s when George ran the team to the ground: 8th-lowest attendance in baseball

Yankee Fans in 2023 when Hal and Cashman are running the team to the ground: 3rd-highest attendance

Recipes are truly being lost:francis:

Well even during the dynasty years attendance wasn’t great, but that was because people were scared to death to go to the Bronx during the week.

Folks weren’t comfortable going to the stadium unless it was a weekend against a good team and they saw the patrol cars on parade.

Cashman has his perfect scenario to :smugfavre: about this season:

Get the #3 WC, son the Twins as usual in the WCR, and lose a competitive ALDS to Texas or Houston.

They can spin that if Judge was healthy all season, they could’ve been good enough to win the division and win the AL. Even though that’s possible, it can’t be dismissed either, it’s brilliant lol.

Yes, but that area was never the safest, especially during the late 70s and most of the 80s.

They still packed the ballpark during the Summer of Sam and the Crack Era.

If George didn't become a bottom-5 owner, they would've still showed up

Another game on Prime :dead:
It’s what, 20 games every year? A little over 12% of the schedule at minimum is on fukking pay per view now before you get to Apple TV as well. Then there’s the games on peacock which even if they’re free are yet another service you gotta set up an account with to watch. They make it a chore to even find out where to watch them play.

I’m wondering if the Yankees pitching philosophy ruins pitchers.

Whatever they’re doing doesn’t seem to help.
Even as good as Cole has been, he doesn’t look at dominant as he did in Houston.

Rodon looked fantastic in San Francisco. He looks like a bum now.

Sonny Gray has looked better on Oakland, Cincy and Minnesota than he ever did in New York.

There are probably more examples
