he still has a solid future ahead of him, but they're messing with his development. The stuff he's terrible at, they're not really trying to fix other than lowering him in the lineup. The one stretch of good baseball he had was a product of listening to his 24 year old catcher in AA who saw something he was doing wrong. That's why the hitting coach got fired.

They're building him up directly or indirectly to be that next huge star when in reality, he shouldn't be playing SS and long term if he can't get on base, he's kinda worthless.

Between the franchise and the fanbase, apparently we're all above developing prospects. They all gotta be Puig out the gate (even Judge kinda sucked during his first callup).
That’s the more pressing issue. The team is so arrogant, lazy, and complacent that they refuse to fix anything that’s wrong with anything or anyone. This is why they’ve developed 2 players total in the last 26 years as @Remote detailed earlier. Nobody comes to this team and gets better, but nearly everyone who joins the team gets worse. Look at Chapman as soon as he leaves the team. His mechanics get fixed, his fastball is up a good 2-3mph, his strikeouts are up 5-6 per 9 innings back to 15-16 as opposed to 10 last year, & his ERA is in the mid 2’s after in the mid 4’s last year and the back half of 2021. I don’t trust them to get anything right with Volpe. Safer bet is he’ll end up like Joba or Gary or Clint Frazier unless a new front office and coaching staff come in.

Rizzo struck out five times yesterday

So naturally, The Yankees put the worst hitter in baseball for two months 3rd behind Judge

The lack of feel for the game and reading the room from this organization is almost impressive
Bauers should be leading off and Gleyber hitting behind Judge :francis: It's funny they've moved everyone and their mother all over the lineup except for Rizzo & Stanton. They get to stink it up hitting 3rd & 4th :francis:

Don’t forget :flabbynsick: donaldson hitting anywhere between 3-5 in the lineup every game before he got hurt despite a sub .150 average :scust:

If this score holds they’ll be 47-51 with a run differential of -40 when not facing Oakland & Kansas City. Buster olney reports that Hal is expected to not take any action in regards to cleaning house this winter.

Cashman disrespecting us
He’s been doing that for 20 years now since he let Clemens & Andy walk in free agency

It’s hard to wrap my mind around how lifeless this team has become. They all know they suck and it seems that they all know there’s no way to fix it with the roster they have.

Fire Boone
Fire Cashman

It’s just that simple. And it starts with them.

Maybe this type of mediocrity is a way of life in Queens but keep it out of the Bronx.
Levine has to go too. Hal at this point needs to fire everyone in the organization who has a hand in baseball operations or he needs to sell the team. This is an inexcusably bad product regardless of the uniform the players are wearing. A team this unwatchable wouldn’t be ok in Pittsburgh, KC, Oakland, or Miami either. There’s literally nothing this team does well in any facet of the game. Judge & Cole are the only thing keeping these guys from being process era 76ers levels of bad. Awful and with no direction. They have 1 batter who warrants any sort of game planning from the other team. They have 2 pitchers who might be good depending on how Rodon turns out. The pen is replaceable. They don’t have a catcher, a first baseman, a shortstop, a third baseman, a centerfielder, a left fielder, or a closer. They need at least 3 lefty bats that aren’t here now. They need a strength and conditioning staff that can keep players healthy. Basically there’s really only 3 guys on this roster who definitely should be here next season. The other 22 can get the fukk out :camby:
