Another embarrassing series where certain somebodies should be fired but Hal is p*ssy.
Quick walkoff HR to a guy that hasn't hit a HR all year. :mjtf:
In Colorado :dead: My mom could've hit one outta there with less at bats than he had :dead:

Don't Believe the Hype
I don't even watch the games anymore - just scoreboard watch - and it's still annoying.

Unless something exciting happens at the trade deadline for the Yanks, I can't waste time with even a scoreboard check.

Either way, though, this team really isn't built for success. I don't know how you could have optimism for '23 - even if/when/after Judge returns.

Worst loss of the season :scust:

Every series now has at least 1 loss like the 2021 loss to Houston right before the break where the pen gave up 6 runs in the 9th or the Boston loss a month later where they gave up something like 4-5 doubles in a row in the 7th. Unreal.

I don’t think these Yankees even believe they can win.

They don’t have that confidence or aura. If you’re old enough to remember those late 1990s Yankees you know what I mean. You watch Rod Beck on the mound and you just knew Bernie was going to rock his shyt. Don’t ask me how.

These Yankees don’t even feel like a “team”. They’re not a unit.

Yea but you gotta have the all-around talent to have that confidence and aura too.

There’s a reason for that. They’re nowadays mostly a scrap heap of old dudes on the end of bad deals and journeymen being played out of position. 7 of the 9 hitters today went into the game with an obp below .300 for the year and 1 of the 2 whose obp is over that mark hasn’t hit a homer since May. Can’t have that sort of confidence when there’s no ascending talent to gel together while playing their right positions and nobody is ever held accountable and there’s no internal pressure to ever get better.

The organization’s biggest problem is its arrogance and apathy. It’s turned the culture toxic and since there’s no leadership, it’s also almost impossible to develop any consistency, which also creates a feedback loop where the front office then tells us that they’re so close to being good so they won’t blow it up and then after looking good for a bit, the lack of talent, leadership, and guys playing in the right places burns them again.

The foundation the whole thing is built on is bad and has been for a long time now.

At least the Knicks get rid of the coach and GM after a few years when it all craters :francis:. We’re out here with a GM who’s developed 1 position player & no starters since Donovan Mcnabb was on the cover of madden. 1 position player & no starters since the PS3 & Xbox 360 released.
