Hal has to act this winter. This team isn’t just bad, but boring and lifeless too. There’s maybe 2 guys in the batting order who aren’t in decline at this point. He can’t expect people to keep tuning in to watch this. The whole brand the team sells to the public is commitment to greatness, meanwhile since 2021 the only vibes we’ve gotten from them is arrogance, apathy, & complacency. They barely even pretend to care anymore.

Trevino - hasn't hit as well as last year, but we can't complain about what he offers offensively. He's responsible for the staff and they've done their job.

Rizzo since he messed his neck has been worthless and he needs to not come back until he's 100%.

Same with DJ. Those two have gotten a pass because to boo them is to criticize ourselves which Yankee fans don't wanna do, but those two are inexplicably bad.

Gleyber's just proving why there's no point in keeping him long term. He hasn't flat out sucked, but the team as a whole shouldn't be cratering this way if he was as good as we thought he'd be and he isn't.

Volpe is at least learning and that's no thanks to the hitting coach. But he's not ready for leadoff.

Josh Donaldson just needs to go. Whatever he was supposed to provide he simply doesn't.

IKF is a sympathetic figure now. Now when he sucks, it's not totally his fault. They're asking him to be something he isn't so he doesn't deserve the vitriol he got last year.

Bader is amazing when healthy, but if all we can expect is 100 games a year from year, he might not be the worth the long term investment,

Oswaldo has been the biggest disappointment because he's had opportunities to make LF his and he's failed every time.

Stanton is gonna get shytted on again and if we don't make it to October, there's no payoff, so he just hurts the team.

Judge being hurt is not his fault, but Judge being hurt is kinda why I didn't mind him leaving if he did. 8 more years of this and for what? A bunch of 99 jersey sales.

The rest of the fill ins are just that. That's on Cashman.

Sevy is washed and it sucks. Cortes' magic pixie dust is gone. Somehow our staff is still ok.

Headed into next year, what's really gonna change?

I guess maybe Rortvedt threatens Trevino's PT.

Maybe Gleyber goes, but now DJ every day is a bad idea. Donaldson goes, but then they've wasted a year of Peraza.

Maybe Bader comes back, but 100 games at the most for him. Judge is gonna be IL'd up anyway. STILL no answer for LF and then Stanton is a part time player now.

and the worst part is they won't fully bottom out. If that 30 year streak of +.500 seasons ended, that would sound off alarms, but they don't know how to be that bad.

I’m very close to tapping out on the season. The lineup is so trash and they did nothing in the off-season to address it
I’ve basically been tapped out since 2020. I can’t watch for more than 2-3 games in a week at any point since then and I basically haven’t watched them at all since the end of July last year. More or less tuned out at midseason 2021 too. Even John Sterling didn’t seem to enjoy watching them much that year. They haven’t had a left fielder playing left field since 2018. Haven’t had a reliable catcher since 2016-17. Haven’t had a reliable centerfielder since 2017-18. They have 1 lefty batter. They have 2 hitters on the roster who aren’t clearly in decline and 1 of the 2 is so young that we still don’t know if he’s good yet. Every game they have at least 1-2 guys playing out of position and half the lineup is guys who have no long term future on any team. Judge and Cole right now are like Steven Jackson on the mid to late 2000’s St. Louis rams, also a crew whose time in the sun was ruined by a toxic front office. Something has to change.

and they flat out lie and hide behind fukking statistics as if fans are gonna hear that and go ":manny: well if that's what the numbers said."

Any time they get pressed on this (which isn't often because then the team catches feelings and blocks your access) they don't have much in terms of answers. They all sound like they're lying or can't understand why something isn't working so they attribute it to crap like luck.

It's like what they really wanna do is put up a billboard that says "cmon guys winning isn't everything" but know that will cost them fans, but that's what they want us to come to terms with.
