I'm not tryna be a producer/rapper/musician. And I live in NYC.I actually did this for a little bit. I ended working for a tv station.
Everyone thinks they're a producer nowadays with pro tools on their laptops. You better be willing to move to LA, New York or Nashville. And even then it's a cut throat business.

iight so I just started college and shyt. I'm majoring in Business but what I really want to do is something/anything music related. Whether it's working for Def Jam, blogging, A&R'ing or that type of shyt. I've seen that lifestyle and it's something I'm interested in.
So what I want to know is, what would be a good major for that? Let's say I stuck with business, what particular field would help me get in there after I graduated? Should I switch to a journalism major or something? Help me out coli brehs.

Use school strictly for BUSINESS & fukk WHATEVER ELSE THEY TEACH YOU ABOUT MUSIC...
You need 1 thing in the entertainment industry to survive & thats the ability to NETWORK NETWORK NETWORK NETWORK... without the ability to NETWORK it doesn't matter what you do...
NETWORK YOUR ASS OFF... HUMAN CAPITAL IS WORTH WAAAAAAAY MORE THEN ANYTHING ELSE IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY BECAUSE YOU GET PAID ***OFF OF YOUR RELATIONSHIPS***... I CANNOT stress that enough...
Better walk around with your lube in hand in case you want to make it to the top
out in PA tryna get my GPA up so I can get into NYUWhat college do you go too?
I'm not in the biz, but it seems to me the best way to prove your worth is by getting good experience through your school. So whatever it is that you want to do professionally, start doing it on campus. I'm sure your school has a radio show, you could do that. You could learn how plan, promote and execute good parties. *ye shrug*

Find something no one else is doing or do it in a way no one else is doing, and do that....
Get a tough chin, and learn that you are going to hear "no" a 1000 times for every "yes"...
Move to ATL, NYC, LA, or Miami...or Nashville if that's your thing.
You don't need school...I can't emphasize this enough if the music biz is your thing. If you want to still go the school route...take marketing or learn how to build webpages/blogs and do what I listed above. Unless your blessed, if you don't do those 3 things you are "NOT" going to get on...I guarantee it.
Where the fukk did you get that from?So you just wanna be around rappers? That's just being a groupie..youd have a better chance if you were a girl with big titties...are you?
