it looks stupid because it puts you in a bubble around people in a social setting where you are having unnatural interaction with yourself and an audience that isn't physical. it's not far removed from the appearance of the insane who talk to themselves.
the whole social convergence of the digital world with our lives has been disastrous for human social skills in record time. can't imagine the succeeding generations. people value online following likes and attention more than real life quality relationships. and the overbearing fact of the matter is that even though it is a job it intrinsically is a job of low value. the worst aspects of this are true for most content creators because the bar of entry is LOW. but there are gems in the mix. the issues is the internet allows access to everyone on an equal playing field and this is good and bad. popularity alone catapults talentless attention seeking bums next to real contributors. the gauge for value is just not accurate if the measure is fame. which is why they (tech world, advertisers) ran to AI influencers as soon as they could.
