I think I’ve come to the conclusion that exclusives don’t matter

These numbers are bad for a console that is still fairly new.

I have multiple theories why we are seeing these drops so early in Xbox life.

The pandemic boost is over for the Xbox so the demand return back to normal.

The pandemic boost accelerated/decreased the Xbox life expectancy..The pandemic boost brought in aot of new customers for Nintendo,PS5 and other markets(Crypto, stocks,), but for Xbox the boost just sped up the adoption rate of pre existing customers. So customers who would've brought Xbox in year 3 brought the Xbox in its first 18 month of its life. People misinterpreted this sped up adoption as Phil turning The Xbox around or Xbox is competitive again.

These numbers are awful :scust:

Phil Spencer is a dud.

Exclusives don’t matter as much this gen.

Microsoft has been fukking up repeatedly.

I still dont understand how... billions of dollars brought zenimax/bethesda, activision/blizzard and still not moving ahead... they buy out the competition to cripple the other competition but is still behin with no games to show for it... :mjlol:

Also increased demand for next gen consoles like the Series S, which seemed to have met demand well over a year ago. It kind of proves that a lot of xbox players settled for them cause they couldn’t get the Series X cause as much as they discounted them and had them in plentiful stock, the hardware numbers still drastically fell.

People don’t want them.

The shills are ridiculous lol

“xbox took a hit in hardware revenue because they sold less consoles and discounted them” no shyt my guy :skip:

Also People cannot accept the fact that Xbox simply isn't popular anymore. This is not the 360 Era anymore. When it comes to analyzing and predicting Xbox sales potential and situation people use Xbox 360 sales as reference, as if the 360 was the norm while in reality every Xbox console sold poorly. The 360 was an anomaly. This is why people are always off the mark when predicting Xbox lifetime sales potential.

The Xbox shills are ridiculous especially on Resetera and Twitter.

this is more than likely my last gen purchasing an an xbox…truth be told, I’m ready to trade in the xbox’s I have now and just focus on PS5 and PC gaming…game pass makes it easier to consider doing that…if starfield doesn’t live up to the hype it’s gonna be another rough year for xbox

games being delayed until 2023 pretty much answers the question.

No big holiday game launch. Almost a year1:1 year over year decline in content and hardware.

Game pass growth shows people who have the system are continuing to pay for the service and PC users are also adopting.

Good announcements and gameplay with firm release dates from starfiekd and red fall should help the quarter after next.

PS5 is going to widen the gap because early adopters will influence their friends to get a PS5 over a XSX. I think MS only hope is PS5 owners want a second console to play their exclusives, but at the moment Xbox is living off potential. The thing about potential is it doesn't mean shyt, if you're not performing. Curious if they can recover but the barren 2022 made it undecided consumers' decision easy to wait for a PS5. Won't be shocked if they bow out of console manufacturing this gen or next because might be easier to be a multiplatform publisher than a console publisher.

these numbers are compared to the quarterly numbers from the same time last year. so it's 2022's holiday season, with no games, being compared to 2021's holiday season, with Forza Horizon and Halo

There are a lot of casuals sticking with their last gen console until they can no longer play the latest Madden/NBA2K/FIFA/GTA/COD.

But I think most casuals would choose to upgrade to ps5 over Xbox unless they were heavily invested in xbox. They see games like Spiderman and GOW on Ps5 and then look over at Series X and there’s… not really anything to get excited about. At least not yet.
