No you're right. Suge DAME Irv Puff all had bosses too. shyt everyone does. But they had way more power than the indepedent artists do today. Its one thing to be an "independent" artist its another to have your own brand and somewhat be self made and not take peoples handouts i.e. Hov Biggs Dame starting Roc A Fella when no other nikkas wanted to give them a chance. Yes they still were with majors...but it was a start

It's OBVIOUS the quality was on a COMPLETELY different level. And that's damn near due to the fact that not ANYONE could just pick up a mic and rap and put they shyt up for millions of people to hear. And we were allowed to call shyt wack back then as well. Social media didn't exist so people who didnt belong having their opinions heard. Weren't heard. U had people who were actually skilled and good at their jobs in every facet of the game. There was definitely wackness..wasnt pushed as great tho and people took it for what it was. They weren't taken seriously. nikkas get called geniuses for just breathing on a track these days and these nikkas ain't even spending time to write they rhymes whether they either wasting an engineers time by punching in every other bar wit they shytty "freestyles" or they actually got other nikkas penning they shyt. All of this without a care in the world. The fans are even terrible. Just look at The Booth. These lil nikkas literally fukked the whole subforum up beyond repair. Terrible thread after terrible thread. Terrible opinion after terrible opinion. I've actually read some of the worst opinions in life on this forum. And it's in real life too. Some lil nikka the other day said fukk Q Tip. He's garbage. Yet wondered why I don't fukk wit Lil Pappy. Cause "he's nice". It's not even a requirement to be coherent. I mean u have exceptions.
