I remember there was a time when people were saying if Belichick was available half the league would fire their HC to get him

He plays a position that requires to have physical ability and he was turning 43 before the new season. Belichick's position is purely mental. Totally different scenarios.

Beli is 72. This plays into teams going in for him. If he was also younger it would be different I'm sure

This isn’t rap, oh “make another Hov”. Like for real y’all gotta know shyt isn’t ever that simple.

Bill helped Tom. Tom helped Bill.

Unless the NFL is dumb af (which could be the case), they understand that. They don’t fall into the dumbass fan discourse thinking life is cartoons.

Tom won in Tampa, great achievement. But he had a good situation there, solid O and D with a good coach. He pushed them over the line, they weren’t trash before he got there. It’s not like Brady went to Cleveland and won with them.

Bill had Mac, and couldn’t get it done. Maybe with a Pro Bowl level QB he could have, maybe not. Winning isn’t that easy, you need a lot of right pieces. Tom had it in Tampa, Bill didn’t in NE.

When Phil came back after the Bulls run, only 3 teams went after him. Lakers got him. You don’t think most didn’t want to? No they understood that with figures like that, they are selective, picky, and must have some sort of relations with the man already, and a whole lot more (fit, culture, offer).

If Pop was 10 years younger and left the Spurs, even then there wouldn’t be more than 3-4 teams that would actively try and pursue him. shyt probably less.

And I hate Bill. But cook with the dumb shyt.

I think the part people overlook the most in the "Make another Brady" argument is the money. Part of what made the Patriots work so well is that Brady was underpaid relative to the QB market. QBs aren't going to do that shyt these days. Mahomes is the closest, and all the same people that were applauding him for attempting to follow Brady's example were shytting on him for not restructuring his deal to help reset the market for everyone else. shyt ain't happening again any time soon.

1.)Because the win now teams don’t want him. A 71 year old Bill totally wants a rebuild team. Yeah right. He wants to prove he can win a title without Tom. If you think he doesn’t you’re full of crap.

2.) The guy with the best resume ever is available, your team quit on your coach, you lost to the NFC south winner, and they are like nah we are good.

3.) Sean had more interest than Bill. Stop making excuses. He’s just not as valued around the league as everyone thought.

Really, the primary difference between Payton and Belichick is that year off that Payton had. Even great coaches need to distance themselves from a down season. Him being able to spend a year just talking about football instead of actually having to coach was a better sell job than any interview he could've gone on, had he and the Saints worked something out.

Beli is all time great coach, fukk yall talkin bout? He's 70. A lot of teams would like to hire a younger coach. It is what it is.

Poppovich hasn't won a championship since Duncan retired. Is he a bad coach too?

Kawhi left and won a Championship the very Next season, Spurs Had an 11 straight losing Streak in 2022 and a 16 and 18 game losing streak in the same calendar year 2023, Lost 33 out of 40 games this season. He still one of the GOATs.

Who knows what Belicheck is demanding behind the scenes, the relationship between him and the owner and GM is going have to be ironed out on his terms most likely
That's why I don't see the Eagles pursuing him. Any team with an entrenched GM like Roseman or a owner that thinks he knows football like Lurie or Jerry Jones is probably going to pass on a strong willed coach like Belicheck (and Vrabel too)

OP acting like he got access to Bill Belichick Agent's email, some teams might have contacted to gauge interest and were declined for all we know. This is a guy that for 30 years have kept his contract terms(Lenght/Value) a secret and the details on them are pure media speculation unlike other coaches. Theres like 3 teams with openings that he probably he wouldn't go to off the rip Panthers, Titans, Seahawks probably wont get any of the top coaches available.

Bill wants a win now team that he can win a quick ring with. The cowboys fit that bill, among others. The eagles were just in the supebowl and quit on their coach, perfect for BB. But nah they riding with Nick. Lurie ain’t Jerry so no excuse there.

The problem is none of those teams want him, so he has to go to the Falcons. The chargers want Harbaugh, then Vrabel before Bill.

There was more interest in Sean Payton last year and you had to trade multiple draft picks to acquire them there is Bill in 2024. Think about that for a second

Post makes zero sense. Beli is not pressed for a “quick ring.”

You sound like those dudes that talk about the Trailblazers passing on Jordan even though they already had a good shooting guard.

You're mad that owners and GMs aren't messing up the morale of the coach they have now to actively pursue a guy they have a low percentage chance to get.

This post would make sense if your weren’t talking about prospects and not established sure things.

“The greatest coach of all time” is available and the market is meh

You tweaking.

Brady is only Brady because he competed against that era's highest skilled afc qb of that time in Bledsoe. Where Brady was rhe Michigan killer qb thought of as lower in perception on the depth chart. When in reality Brady had rhe skill and talent capability to play up to Bledsoe and did.

Plus at the time beli needed a gateway offensive young mind to be a running mate. Who was not a hold over from the tuna like Bledsoe was. Plus beli needed a qb who had grit. Where Brady being from Michigan just had those intangibles and skill to play up and compete against Bledsoe.

If not for that particular variable. I do not see Brady becoming Brady.

With Bledsoe being Bledsoe at that time. Brady did what others who rode pine were incapable of doing. Which was beating out the so-called higher skilled pedigreed player at their height to be the preferred starter. Brady taking out Bledsoe is rhe moment that made Brady- Brady. Yet beli had ti be open to an offensive gateway player in that era. To beat the nfc. As the nfc had a defensive blowout based mantra and ideal in the superbowl. That beli solved and changed rhe entire shift of power in the nfl away from the nfc to the afc. Brady alone without beli is not capable of doing that. Beli is whom crafted rhe gameplan.
to keep the superbowl of all games low scoring enough.
for an afc team to win the superbowl. When before beli.
no afc had a prayer of winning a superbowl.

When was this time you speak of?

Because Belichick turns 72 years old in April.
How much longer do you think this guy has?

Only coaches older than Belichick to coach an NFL game are:

Romeo Crennel
George Halas
Marv Levy
Pete Carroll

And go look at how well they were doing in those final seasons.

TODAY Reports are coming out saying that BOTH Cowboys and Eagles reached out and Belichick showed little to no interest. I’m sure they weren’t the only teams reaching out.
