Kaiba is lowkey tragic though. The Anime didn't touch on it as much, but breh lost his parents when he was a kid, then got adopted by an a$$hole millionaire who forced him to play intellectually stimulating games to develop his mind and business acumen while abusing him and punishing him for losing. Had the kid playing chess while whipping his back and shyt.
fukked up Kaiba's whole psyche and made him tie his entire self worth to being good at games
. Then at 16 he drove him out of the company and then laughed when he committed that and jumped out the office building.
I'd actually recommend everybody read the manga...the anime was a blatant card game advertisement but the manga dove more into the mythology and psyches and shyt. Like when Kaiba first showed up he was on some straight
shyt. Sent goons to Yugi's grandpa's house to jump him and steal the Blue Eyes Card, had Yugi and everybody like "
nikka it's a fukking card game what the fukk you doing this shyt for?!"
And Yami Yugi early on was a straight up PSYCHOPATH
Breh was fresh out of being sealed up for 5,000 years so he was pulling slasher smiles and mind crushing nikkas on sight and making them play all types of fukked up games. He even set some dudes on fire
Regular Yugi didn't even know what was going on, Yami'd take over and Regular Yugi would black out. Then he'd snap back to normal and everybody would be like
around him and he'd just be confused.
SO anyway Yami Yugi took over and challenged Kaiba to a shadow game duel and when he won, he was like "Well since you wanna make a fukking card game life or death, I'm gonna make you hallucinate yourself getting killed by all of the Duel Monsters. If you really bout that life you can handle it pleighboi
"
And that's when Kaiba really went nuts. He literally went Full Jigsaw and made this elaborate ass theme park called the Death T designed to murder Yugi and Jonouchi. Had them playing laser tag against goons who had real guns, trapping their arms in a guillotine and they had to solve a puzzle in a minute before the blade came down.
And then on top of that for one of the games, he found a serial killer who murdered a bunch of children a year prior, locked him in a dungeon for a few months so he'd be thirsty to kill somebody, and then handcuffed Jonouchi to him and forced him to go searching for the key to unlock it while this serial killer nikka was coming at him with a chainsaw
And then Jonouchi wound up having to murder him by setting him on fire
And then finally, a padded room where a bunch of big ass blocks started falling from the ceiling and they had to escape before they got crushed to death.
They all escaped but then Yugi had to face Kaiba's brother Mokuba in a capsule monsters game. And Mokuba was on some little psycho shyt too. Lil breh even tried to poison Joey before the Death-T shyt. Anyway, the whole reason kaiba invented all of the holographic technology was to simulate the Shadow Games and make Yugi experience what he went through. In the Capsule Monsters duel, the loser would go through a virtual reality simulation of getting killed by monsters...basically until you have a panic attack and shyt

Mokuba lost, but Kaiba made him experience the penalty game anyway. Mokuba was like "
But I'm your brother!" and Kaiba was just like, "Yeah, and you lost
" So then Yugi duels Kiba, same stipulations, AND Kaiba's goons got guns to Jonouchi and Anzu/Tea's heads.
Manga got a lot of comedy fukkery too. Anzu was lowkey a smut and Yugi was lil' pervert, always fiending over her and trying to cop a feel. Him and Jonouchi would be trading porno too

.. Duels was Life or Death, fukk a Shadow Realm. What he did to Mai. Chopping off limbs. Battle City was fukkery at its finest. 
The manga is something serious.
Yami Marik had no legit L. He lost to Good Marik/Talk no jutsu. Dude sonned Yami Yugi & Yami Bakura. Had Rare Hunters catching bodies. Kaiba gave 0 fukks.
