Who you hire is a reflection of the type of manager you are.

And yeah, you can turn lemons into lemonade, but you can't make lemonade with tomatoes :mjpls:

If you don't hire right, you will end up micromanaging, babysitting and being stressed the fukk out.

I feel you but the math problem is just funny, especially since you said you usually know within the first five minutes if you hiring them or not

I never do assessments. I think the company is wack off rip because they are looking for robots and not people who think outside the box. :yeshrug:

I'm an Accountant by trade but just became a Treasurer. I was looking for strictly remote work, but some jobs (very few in my industry) required assessments. They were 30 or 60 minutes long. I thought to myself that why would I do this shyt without getting paid. :mjlol:

My point though was I saw these same jobs re-advertised again within a year. So I'm figuring they hired someone that obviously passed all of their assessment and just quit. I know this isn't a long assessment but I wouldn't do it because there are plenty of jobs in my industry that don't do it and I question the culture.

It's not that deep. I don't care if someone can think outside the box. I just want someone who thinks period sometimes.

If you're a manager, you kinda want to do less work. the less competent people that work for you, the more work you have to do.

true. but the test is the icing on the cake. the final go or no go. I actually wasn't going to hire someone until the figured it out in like 10 seconds. So sometimes it worked out for the best for some people :manny:

Most 6 certs, 6 figures dudes would refuse to take this test off general principle alone. We don't usually play by everyone else's rules.
