There's alot of LB talent in this draft. Simmons and Murray are legit 1st round guys and there's alot of high potential guys they can pick up later in the draft.

I think they love TJ Edwards though and we're gonna see alot more of him next year

Really hope they bring grugier hill back.

I also don't hate Gerry as much as everyone else. He had alot of big plays for us this year and was our most consistent guy at LB, but I think you're right that they probably put more on his plate that his talent can handle at this point
49ers grabbed Dre Greenlaw in the 5th last year and he was flying all over the field making plays as a rookie. They're out there, they just have to actually make the effort.

Haven't drafted an LB since Joe Walker - 7th round - 2016 :hhh:

Another cat I like in this draft is Jordyn Brooks outta Texas Tech. He's projected in the mid rounds so if he's there in the 3rd and 4th I'll be
I like him and that Gaither kid out of Appalachian

Both look like potential steals to me

There's another kid out of UNC that was a converted offensive player and looks like he could be a steal.

While it sucks that the LB unit is going to be even more depleted now, Bradham is 30-years old and his play has been mediocre these last two years. That he was the team’s best LB speaks more to how bad that unit is than it does to Bradham’s skill. If Howie is truly serious about getting younger and moving on from that 2017 team, then moves like this need to be made.

Simmons not physical I see him make a lot of wrap up tackles and shoe string tackles.his athleticism is crazy tho at his size. Murray is the new modern NFL LB. He all over the field bringing the wood. He was in a garbage ass defense and scheme. I wonder how he would look behind a our dline.

He not going, the dead money if they release is like 26 mill in dead cap money. Cant trade him because he is injured and even if he wasnt, he is on a fast decline ever since the superbowl.

I know Howie was wishing that he let him walk on that one year deal after winning the superbowl but I dont think he wasnt expecting him to fall off like he did.

He probably wont play until mid year next season with the type of injury he had and when it happened.

We stuck with him. They can smear him all they want. It's not going to be productive.

And lookin back on it, if it was him talkin to Josina, what he said wasnt that bad, all that person said was to stop making things so complicated especially with the personell u have and for dumbass Carson to check it down more.

When Wentz found trust in Sanders and Scott on the checkdowns and Ward with the underneath stuff, his play and the teams play dramatically improved down the stretch. It wasnt really that bad :yeshrug:.

That source two years ago was more damaging, questioning Wentz as leader and that source wasnt confirmed to be Alshon. Eventhough it was Josina who broke it. :yeshrug:

But then again, who knows, I have been a terrible predictor with this team. Alshon probably gone after I wrote this:mjlol:

Don’t know if anyone here subscribes to The Athletic, but there’s an article there too. It’s on the Jets section, but I’ll post the relevant portion:

Jeffery found himself at the center of midseason drama, too, which seems a key cog in Philadelphia’s interest in a divorce. With the Eagles offense in a slump, ESPN cited an anonymous source who ripped quarterback Carson Wentz and the group’s ability to function. Radio host Howard Eskin outed Jeffery as that source that week. While ESPN’s Josina Anderson denied it was Jeffery, several other Eagles reporters confirmed it, too. League sources told The Athletic that Wentz and Jeffery never saw eye-to-eye and their relationship was testy.

Interesting that this all comes out now, and not two years ago when the offense was firing on all cylinders, but that’s the way of these things. :yeshrug:

I think Jeffery has to go. I don’t know if he was the one who made those comments, and I don’t really care. Jeffery and Wentz just haven’t clicked these last couple years. Some of that has been on Wentz, some of that has been on Jeffery, but the fact of the matter is that the Eagles already paid Wentz a ton of money to guarantee him as their future. So they need to build around him. And that means getting receivers whose skillsets align with the quarterback’s.

Hopefully Howie can find a team willing to take a chance on a 30-year old possession receiver coming off a LisFranc injury and one of his least productive seasons. Even if the Eagles have to attach a 4th Round pick and eat half of that cap to get rid of him. The WR position needs a complete top-to-bottom overhaul, and simply bringing in new coaches isn’t enough. shyt, I’d get rid of JJAW, too.

The problem is that this all leaves the Eagles without a proven WR1 and no easy options in FA. I doubt Cooper leaves Dallas. Even if he does, I really doubt Howie pays him $20 million a year. The Eagles still have Jackson, but he’s 34-years old and has always been a WR2. The Eagles probably aren’t paying Anderson $13 million a year, either. Howie has stressed the need for his draft picks, so no big trades for Diggs or anything. Even if the Eagles choose a receiver at #21, there’s no guarantee that Ruggs/Higgins/Reagor/Aiyuk/etc. will pan out, or make an impact in 2020.
