dbz was very influential for me and was one of the first animes ive ever watched but even as a kid i understood sometimes i watched an episode basically of a character just powering up. yu yu hakasho had a better flow, more characters were relevant and good depth

Yu Yu defintely, I loved DBZ but Yu Yu was just incredible the entire run through, both had their unnecessary filler eps but Yu Yu didnt have nearly as many as DBZ had

And just comparing the fights, sorry but Yu Yu is still better, I love DBZ and I've seen the entire series from point A to Z filler episodes and all about 5 times(which is a lot) but Yu Yu is still better

The anime was probably better but the YYH manga was so disappointing. Dragonball on the other hand is an all-time classic.

One Piece is my favorite manga and I do believe that it shyts on DBZ but Yu Yu Hakusho is blatantly better than DBZ as well and so are tons of other Shonen manga.
Let's not even get into Seinen.

Yu Yu Hakusho being better than DBZ is known to everyone not blinded by nolstalgia.

A lot of shounen series out now are better than YYH and MUCH better than DBZ
