you'll find that many blacks from the Bay and LA have grandparents (who moved to California in the 40's-50's) who are originally from either St. Louis,Chicago,Omaha and KC.
it's part of the reason why Cali dudes set up shop in those cities, cause they still had some cousins or relatives
who still lived there.

Honestly that's before my time. Even the Tech N9ne video posted earlier, when he was talking about crips and bloods in the 50s blocks of KC....he's a few years older than me so he was talking even earlier than I said. The first I heard of crips and bloods was middle school, on 36th and Linwood, around 1987.
I moved around through out the 50's for the most part til middle school, a lot of the old heads were from cali. ever had local gangs like the GDs in Chicago, or even something like the Decepts in NY....there was just a bunch of neighborhoods and crime. It could've been something as simple as an uncle, or cousin, coming from California one summer in the early 80s, that put KC up on the gang shyt.
