They shoulda made a sequel based off the sequel from the book, it would of been all kinds of fukkery :ehh:

Dude went on to play for the Saints :banderas:

Fought in Dessert Storm with an Orangatan named Sue :dahell:

And met Tom Hanks at the Oscars after Tom played him in the movie :wow:

Movies and tv shows
In a thread on things you didn't realize about movies til u were grown I said that I never knew that Jenny died of AIDS til my sister broke it down for me. Smh. Then it was speculation about how he would up dying from AIDS in Philadelphia. (Even though it was two separate movies, duh, but it was just movie talk)

The Gump & Co. book was actually pretty decent aside from him having convo's with Jenny's ghost :scust:

fukked up movie.

basically saying that as long as your white you will be all right. Forrest was retarded but still was able to become a millionaire and live the american dream even though he was unconscious of it.

still a feel good movie as long as you don't think about it.

I disagree.

I mean, everybody in the movie was fucced up...Forrest was just the only one who "kept running" through the chit.
Like you say, he wasn't conscious of the fact that he was "living the American Dream", or even of the effect he had
in historical events - he was just a nicca from Greenbow, Alabama that did what his peoples told him to do, even
if other people thought it was "stupid".

Nah, it was his kid. Can't post the vid because I'm on my phone, but when Forrest goes to her spot and meets the kid, at the end of the scene he sits down next to him to watch tv. They both tilt their head the exact same way at the same time, that was a subtle way of showing that it was his kid

naw it was racist. They even show you his black parallel in bubba. And you saw what happened to him he died in Nam and the white man got rich off his idea.

Breh, all I know is, Newt Gingrich cited the movie as a "true representative" of "American values" in 94 and used it to help the republicans take over Congress. :sas2:

Jenny gets beaten down physically and emotionally all for living her life basically. for being a hippie, for protesting, for demonstrating, for doing damn near everything that was associated with being a liberal in the 60s and 70s and even in the 90s. Meanwhile, the guy who played the straight and narrow, named after a KKK Grand Wizard (his relative), ends up leading the good life and becoming a millionaire

What you mean breh?
And just to be real, not all of them are on my top 5 but those are just movies off the top of my head that I could see being on someone's top 5. Although Casablanca is in my top 10...now I wanna dig up that top movie of all time list to make sure I'm not contradicting myself

I just mean different tastes & bein able to discuss... you bring up Casablanca or Gone With The Wind around my family & you get the instant :aicmon:.. I can't talk movies in real life with family without someone trippin on each other... I can come here & see all kinds of things...

I don't have a thought out top 5, I just meant "Secret of the Shaolin Poles" "Secret of NIMH" "Cats Eye" "Puppetmaster" "Princess Bride" "Big Trouble in Little China" "Legend of Billie Jean" & "Labyrinth" probably ain't on nobody else list but in my top 10, but cause I'm from my hood I'm supposed to have Scarface & Carlito's Way & I don't... I like different opinions to discuss... Most of the time I agree with you & you give me new things to check out.... :salute: I'm not out here looking for "Classics" just movies I can enjoy...
